Good fun place to stay. The restaurant was excellent

Staying with Katie was so much fun! We arrived after dark so didn't get to really see how impressive the hotel was until the morning, but immediately knew we'd hit on something special when we walked inside. Katie greeted us warmly, as did other locals who were in the hotel bar. Katie gave us a complimentary upgrade so we had a huge room with gorgeous views and our own little kitchen and bathroom. It was much more like staying with friends than staying at a hotel, as Katie cooked a meal for everyone and then we all sat in the bar getting to know each other. In the morning, Katie and the others were very busy preparing for a big event that day but didn't mind my partner and I wondering around taking pictures of all the beautiful rooms and even let us snap a portrait of her while she cooked! Highly recommend this place for people looking for an experience and to get to know the locals vs just somewhere to sleep. We can't wait to go back!

Katie’s place is an eclectic mix of an old country pub and an artist home. You will not get tired of wondering around the various rooms and the bohemian surroundings. Katie is a wonderful thoughtful host. I will keep coming back to this magical place.

I absolutely loved staying at Katies place! I booked the Blue Wagyu room for 5 nights. The room was even better than the photos with a super comfortable queen bed. The purpose of my travel was to get away from technology and spend time in this wonderfully weird and whimsical hotel writing, sketching, reading books and cooking good food. The Robbie Burns Hotel is a wonderland of paintings, artefacts and beautifully mismatched furniture. And so many different living areas with a working fireplace in each of them. I was a little anxious about the idea of shared bathrooms, but this did not turn out to be a problem. If you are looking for something unique, quirky and/or different. This is definitely a place to stay. Thanks Carrol for looking after me. And thanks Katie for making this magical place available us.

I had a wonderful stay at the Robbie Burns Hotel. The hotel is so beautifully decorated that I felt like I was walking through a meditation or another world! Katie very kindly took the booking late and went out of her way to assist me. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends. Thank you again Katie!

We loved the warmth and welcome felt during our stay at the Robbie Burns. Katie is a generous and kind host with an incredible home full of stories. The highlight of our trip.

Wow what a great place to stay and Darren could not be more welcoming. From the moment we arrived we felt so at home and relaxed and Darren was also kind enough to upgrade us to a larger room which was so kind. To be honest, everything was just so perfect during our stay and we even got to meet a couple of kangaroos which was just amazing. We cannot speak more highly of this wonderful place and if you get the chance to stay, do. It is also a yoga retreat and you can just tell from being there, how well they would do this. Also a decent size swimming pool thrown in! We were incredibly sad to leave and wished we had booked a couple more nights.

Great place to stay!! Wonderful hosts, clean and comfortable rooms, good amenities and overall a winning airbnb. Patting a baby rescued kangaroo was also a highlight. The hosts were so so welcoming, would highly recommend staying here

What a little gem Darren and Jill's place is. 5 minutes out of Benalla and close to the Hume Fwy. Cabins are small but cosy, clean, comfortable and quiet with a heater and air conditioning. A gorgeous property with a menagerie of animals and the opportunity for guest to help feed the animals if they want to. Darren was an awesome host who communicated well and was very welcoming. He was accommodating in regards to my particular dietary needs, providing additional cooking facilities for me. He also came to my rescue when I snagged some wire under the car during a visit to the Wetlands. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Darren’s place was very comfortable and quiet. It was easy to unwind and relax. Darren was very attentive in communication and ensuring a tailored experience. But didn’t expect some amenities outside the cabins and the kitchen could be improved.

Aesthetically beautiful surroundings and scrumptious art and furnishings inside. A huge home that is eclectic and warm. Katie is lovely. Peaceful, comfortable and well worth the drive.
