Live like a King in my Castle

SusanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Peter has done a wonderful job refurbishing this very old castle. All the amenities are current and up-to-date. One thing that Guest need to know is that this is a 18th century castle and the spiral stone staircase is wonderful and unique, but you will not really be able to comfortably carry a suitcase up so just be aware we didn’t have a problem with that. Also be aware of that. The main living area is on one of the floors and the bedroom is on another which again is not a problem just unusual as it would be if you were staying in a castle. And keeping with this primitive castle, which again is very well done and refurbished the bathroom is primitive. You won’t find a shower, but he did have a chance to show us his ingenious hidden bathtub.

Double bed, own bathroom, Wild Atlantic Way Barna

My wife and I stayed 5 nights at Sandra’s lovely home in Bearna and felt very comfortable from the start. The house is located on a quiet side street, about 15 minutes by car from Galway. Bearna has several great pubs and restaurants within walking distance, and Sandra gave us excellent recommendations in advance. The room was very clean, tastefully furnished, with a modern private bathroom and a comfortable bed. Each evening, Sandra prepared a small breakfast for the next morning, which we enjoyed in the room. She is a warm and humorous host, always helpful with great tips for local trips. Communication via the app was quick and easy. We can wholeheartedly recommend staying at Sandra’s place – thank you again for everything!

Sea-Renity Cottage on The Cliff

Jean’s home was a bit of heaven. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and this was the perfect spot. So much to do an hour’s drive in each direction. Spectacularly beautiful views. After long summer days exploring the area we loved coming back to have a drink in the back overlooking the bay and watching the sunset. I can’t rave enough at how fabulous this place is!! Thank you Jean for a lovely stay.

I immediately felt welcome and at home in Ann’s house. Her attention in the morning to everyone who stay’s there is incredible. She makes everyone breakfast, and has fresh baked croissants every single morning. The house is easily within walking distance to Galway City. Her daughter Paula is there also to welcome you and recommend places to eat at night. What a true treasure it was to find Ann’s home. All I can say is thank you for making a solo traveler at ease. You truly embody the saying Cead Mile Failte.

Claregalway Castle - River Room (1st Floor)

GraceRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Staying here was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The moment we drove through the gates, our jaws literally dropped—the castle is absolutely breathtaking in person! From start to finish, everything about our stay was magical. Our hosts were so warm and welcoming, and even gave us a personal tour of the castle grounds after a delicious breakfast. Our room was immaculate, cozy, and full of charm—we loved every second of it. As an added bonus, we were greeted by their adorable local cat, Elizabeth, who instantly made us feel at home. The location is also fantastic—just a short walk to several great restaurants, making it easy to explore and enjoy the local cuisine without needing to drive. I can’t recommend this place enough, 10/10!

The room is small but really cozy, perfectly clean and the premises is in a quiet corner around a lot of greens so really easy to relax with a walk around. Phil is kind and very welcoming, when I told her I could make it to the breakfast starting at 8 she offered to prepare some pastries and yogurt for me to take away.
