Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Franklin County

We had a great stay in Smith Mountain Lake at Rachel’s home. It was a great home for our family that came to celebrate our son graduate from Liberty University. The drive was about 50-60 minutes to Lynchburg, but it was nice to be out at the lake and out of the traffic of Lynchburg. The home was fully stocked with everything we needed and more (crockpot, baking pans/dishes, pots/pans, full butlers pantry/laundry room), the bathrooms were all updated, all linens were provided, paddleboards/kayaks were fun to use, we enjoyed the pool table in the basement, the dining table sat 8 which was great for all of our meals and gathering with family. The living area on the main floor is sizable and open providing a good place to gather, the basement allows another option for people to spead out and have space and many decks outside to enjoy the lake. We would stay here again.

One of the best family vacations we’ve ever had! The house was the perfect blend of comfort and charm—so relaxing that we only left by car twice all week. There was plenty to do for our kids and dogs, and the property was incredibly dog-friendly, which made the whole experience even better. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the beautiful front porch, soaking in the peace and quiet. It truly felt like the definition of relaxation. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with family in a gorgeous setting.

Fantastic place with great history. I can tell Jim is a great steward of the grounds. this is a place that really needs to be experienced 2-4 weeks at a time. My little girl was scared when we pet the horses but the picnic at the top of the meadow made up for it! I encourage all to really explore the grounds. word of advice for those city folks out there, come in from the west side through bent mountain. The east side entrance from can be treacherous. thank me later and unwind!

I must say this was my first experience with ever staying in a Airbnb and wanted a change from a hotel and very glad we decided to give this a try. Tammy was an absolutely awesome host very responsive and a very nice lady. The description matches everything. Very beautiful property and very clean.

Our stay was amazing , great views, really quiet and peaceful, lake side access and views, we loved the kayaks available, the place was clean and cozy. The mosquitoe screen in the porch is something you’ll appreciate when having dinner or lunch outside ! Great stay over all

This is a very spacious home with enough room for a large group. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all great, and everything is clean. The kitchen is well stocked and there is a table that seats 10 people. It was very peaceful and quiet. It is an easy walk to the water and the gazebo and fire pit were nice to have. We enjoyed our stay and it was very easy to communicate with the host.

My husband and I had a little weekend getaway here and it was perfect!! Vanessa had everything you could possibly need in the condo. The views were amazing and the place was in perfect condition! We will definitely be back to stay again.

Ninette and Micheal are amazing and excellent host, they genuinely care about you and your stay and are extremely respectful. They are very proactive and responsive to any questions and concerns. I had an amazing time at there place, its what I been needing. If you’re staying in the Smith mountain lake area, this is the place you need to be staying. The view is amazing and peaceful, with great vibes.

We had a wonderful stay while in for a wedding. The cottage is so cute and homey. It has everything you need for a great stay plus some thoughtful extras. I must also say the beds are so comfortable and the hot tub was a great way to end our days. Highly recommend staying here.

Very modern interior with a peaceful deck overlooking the lake. Extremely accommodating host (we were traveling with an infant). Place has everything you could need (cookware, utensils, tea/coffee, etc.) - would recommend :)

Staying at Traci's place was a quality experience!! It was beautifully decorated and stocked with amenities. The condo itself is very well built and solid, so that adds to the luxurious feel. It was the ideal spot for our girls' trip! Evening spa time in the deluxe master bath along with easy, walkable access to the shops, restaurants, and boat slips at the marina was the perfect contrast to our days of sun, fun, and outdoor play on the water at our dock nearby! We all absolutely loved it!

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Susan and Tom’s Airbnb for over a year, and I can confidently say this has been the best Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. From day one, they welcomed me with warmth and kindness, creating a true home away from home. Susan is an incredible host and a fantastic cook—her muffins, scones, and soups are absolutely delicious and something I’ll always remember fondly. She frequently invited me for dinners that were not only delicious but filled with wonderful conversations and laughter. Tom is equally wonderful—he’s someone I genuinely enjoyed spending time with. We had countless engaging chats, and his company was always thoughtful, interesting, and uplifting. He’s truly great to be around and made my stay all the more enjoyable. More than just hosts, Susan and Tom became like family. If you’re considering a stay here, don’t hesitate—this is a rare gem of a place with two of the most wonderful hosts you could ever meet.

My sister and neice and I stayed at Key To Stay's condo for 2 nights in February. I had previously stayed at that same condo in November. I originally gave this condo a great review, which is why we rented it again. This visit had a few maintenance issues, but they were eventually resolved and Key To Stay made sure to reach out to me personally to make sure we were satisfied. I do appreciate their commitment to making sure they improve the guest experience. I will definitely be staying here again after the wonderful customer service. The location is beautiful, the lake view can't be beat. The area has some great places to eat also.

We love Peggy’s place. The view is wonderful, and everything well apportioned. This is our second stay and would gladly visit again.

We had a great stay at the lake house. The house was clean and well appointed. Communication with the host was effortless. We have stayed at this property before and were pleased to see many upgrades, particularly the upstairs bedroom and the master space downstairs. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway to the lake.

Perfect for dog lovers and lake lovers! I’ve rented various condos at Smith Mountain Lake and several different ones at Stripers Landing, but Shannon’s place is now my new favorite. With a great view, plenty of space and the option to bring the pup - it’s such a treat. Highly recommend.

We had a great time! Kathleen thought about all the little things and we didn’t want for anything. The views were fantastic on the deck, we sat out there often. The living quarters were beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful time.

This was a great place to stay for our first time visiting SML! Beautiful views and very comfortable. Only 10 min drive to the grocery store, which is good for this area.

Fantastic hosts!! Quick to respond and easy to work with. Room is even prettier than pictures and is so close to the water. We spent most of our time on the covered porch. Bed is super comfy and furnishings are very pretty. Everything you need is provided. Area is quiet and relaxing!! Heated pool was so nice and has a great view of the water. Kayaks were light so they were easy to get in and out of the water. A beautiful location perfect for a quiet getaway. Would definitely stay here again!!

Great couples place with fantastic views! Short drive to restaurants and grocery. We really enjoyed our short stay here and had everything we needed. Bed was super comfy and we enjoyed coffee in the morning overlooking the lake! We didn’t begin to use all the amenities offered as we were there for other reasons but a free boat slip, grill picnic areas and the pool were definitely inviting.

We found this getaway to be so peaceful! We loved how clean the place was ! We are already looking forward to another trip ! Minus the kids ! The kids had a blast as well ! Lots to do !
