Farmstay holiday rentals in Fiordland

Photos don’t do the view justice. Jeremy was a great host. This is a cabin type experience. We stayed in the winter and used the cottage as a home base for skiing and other activities which was great. Quick ride over to Arrowtown and Queenstown but far away enough to feel private and peaceful. Some important points regarding previous reviews I read about the place being “cold”…the ground floor is all slate stone…as Jeremy recommended, just bring some sandals or slippers to wear around. There is a large heat pump, a lovely pot belly stove, and space heaters and all the beds have blanket heaters which we actually didn’t use because they were too hot…so it’s easy to stay warm and the view and coziness are well worth it, but if you’re expecting a thermostat in a hotel room that you set and leave…this wouldn’t be the place for you. We loved our stay and the host was very responsive.

Stu’s guesthouse was a lovely getaway in New Zealand! Close to Queenstown, ZQN airport, and to many outdoor activities. Very peaceful and private, soft linens, and felt right at home. It’s clear that this is not a cookie cutter Airbnb, but a real guesthouse, and it shows in the fit and finish of the property, and Stu’s helpful and kind approach to hosting. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

We had a lovely stay at Jessica’s home! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The little touches around the house really made it feel welcoming, and we appreciated how well-equipped everything was. Location was convenient and peaceful perfect for a relaxing getaway. Jessica was a great host, responsive and thoughtful throughout. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area!

Cosy and comfortable stay with Bridget, place was exactly as described and was a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. We really appreciated Bridget's hospitality as well, and would come back if we had the chance. Highly recommended!

This was our second stay with Lynne, we had a wonderful time. A warm, cozy home with stunning views. Love the outdoor fire. Lynne thought of everything! Definitely recommend.

Lisa's place is highly recommended. What a beautiful cottage, many things that make this stay special. Lisa and Matt are wonderful hosts and we wish we could of stayed longer but NZ has so much to see.

The landlord, Johnny, is a very sensible man. Perfect Farm, perfect animal! Everything is so perfect! Especially the puppy sparkle! We were expecting her every morning-the house was a little far from town, but it didn't hurt the experience, and at night there was a beautiful view of the stars from the courtyard. It was really an incomparable check-in! The landlord's family is also very warm and friendly. This is by far the best place we've ever lived and experienced!

We cannot say enough good things about this fantastic Lavender Farm home. It is beautifully decorated, was spotlessly clean, incredibly well-equipped, the location was very handy and the grounds just lovely. We were impressed with how warm the house stayed overnight, even on very crisp mornings—the quality of build is imminently evident. Our family extended our stay as we couldn’t bear to leave, and we wish we could live there forever. Thank you as well to Jane for being a responsive host, and we highly rate this experience to future guests.

We had a great stays with Joan and Kevin, wonderful hospitality feel like home straightaway :) The house is modern and squeaky clean. Also, beautifully surroundings with the nature, wildlife and lake. We will definitely stay again next time :)

This property is insanely good! Tremendous character, comfortable and makes me want to visit Southland just to stay here. Peaceful and quiet, a rural oasis, but fear not, for the more socially minded an excellent bar and restaurant was just 3 minutes drive down the road. This property has been a labour of love and it shows. One of the very best I’ve stayed in.

Maria is an incredible host, communicative and helpful whilst giving us space. Her property was welcoming, warm, characterful and immaculate. My daughter and I had a wonderful, peaceful stay and deeply appreciated conversing with the animals and enjoying the outdoor space. We slept like logs with the logburner and extremely comfortable beds. This is the perfect place to slow down and breathe. Stunning views all around. We hope to return for another stay one day.

Hosts are friendly, helpful and communicative. The room is clean, cosy, comfortable and equipped as per listing. We enjoyed walking around the neighbourhood, one that we love to move in to live permanently. A picturesque club house was a joy to sit down for breakfast, followed by a relaxing nature walk. Thanks for letting us check in early also. Much appreciated.

John and Garry are lovely hosts. This is a five star luxury farm stay! The house is gorgeous and the guest accommodation private and oh so comfortable. We truly enjoyed walking around the farm, meeting all the cool animals, and getting to know our hosts. Garry is a chef and cooked us an amazing dinner. Breakfast was lovely. This is a unique stay off the beaten track in the heart of the Southlands. Highly recommended!

We checked out a day earlier because of a water issue at the property due to external reasons. Karen refunded the entire amount. That said, the property is beautiful with amazing views. it's done up very tastefully with modern and high quality amenities. Very serene, private surroundings. Great for exploring the Wanaka region.

A true bed and breakfast in a sea of stale air bnbs! Sharon met me upon arrival and showed me to my private abode in the center of a working cherry (and other things!) farm. The fridge was stocked with eggs, milk, butter and bread, and there was a nespresso machine + a selection of teas. She also gave me a book of local wineries and their backgrounds which I greatly appreciated and used throughout my stay. Would stay here again if I’m ever back in the area!

The A-frame was a great place to stay in Queenstown. Really easy to access town (and you’ll get fit with the hill on the way home!). The home had everything we needed for our long weekend away.

We really enjoyed staying at Niagara Ridge Retreat. The house was comfortable, view was amazing, and we liked the location.

Our stay was great, we were a family of four adults and it suited us perfectly. The cottage was just as described and Jackie was a welcoming, friendly host. Everything was clean and tidy, and in great working order. The surroundings were peaceful and just a short drive from Cromwell itself. It was a great base from which to explore Arrowtown and Queenstown as well. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful Airbnb in Wānaka. The home was warm, comfortable, and perfectly presented, with thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel so inviting. The outlook was absolutely stunning — peaceful, private, and a true reflection of the natural beauty of the region. The spa was a standout feature — soaking under the stars in the crisp mountain air was something we won’t forget. Check-in was seamless, everything was clearly laid out, and we felt at ease from the moment we arrived. This place truly felt like a retreat, and we’d come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and memorable stay in Wānaka.

WOW WOW WO THIS PLACE!! I live in Wanaka and we wanted a lil night away, and man this did not dissapoint. The bath, the view. It was just what we needed!! Cant thank u enough!!

Lovely home and location, we met Paul who was very friendly and welcoming. The home was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again when we are back in New Zealand.
