Family-friendly holiday rentals in Fairlie

Our group of girls (sports trip) had a fabulous stay at Chris and Julie's. They went the extra mile and lit the fire as knew the team was getting in after dark. They were very friendly and accommodating.

We loved this peaceful, spotless refuge while on grandparent duty. Deb and James were friendly hosts and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed hearing about local amenities such as the outstanding Opuke hot pools! Thank you.

The house was fantastic, loved the fireplace and location was so convenient. Simon was super flexible and gave lots of good recommendations for food and things to do. Even went out of his way to tell us about the Aurora. Really appreciate the wonderful accommodation and excellent host. 100% recommend!

Great stay! Tania’s place is in a beautiful, peaceful neighborhood—super quiet and relaxing. The room was very clean, and it’s just about 45 minutes from the Mount Cook area, which was perfect for me. Tania was super kind and even reminded me about the hot tub—it’s tucked away in its own private spot under the stars, and honestly, it was exactly what I needed. Highly recommend!

Ian and Tia were very loving hosts and attentive to whatever we needed. The cottage is fully equipped to spend a few relaxing days there.

Loved our stay! Amazing views and super cosy house with everything we needed 😊 We will definitely be coming back! Jess and Nico were awesome hosts. One thing to note for families with kids: Master bedroom is upstairs and the other two bedrooms are downstairs.

We had a lovely stay whilst doing part of the Alps to Ocean bike ride. Really cosy place. The hot tub was the perfect temperature. The apple cake if you opt for dinner was brilliant. The only heads up I'd give other guests is that if you're over 5' 9 you might be ducking slightly in part of the bus, and there's no electricity inside. Neither was a problem for us though.

Debbie's place was really good, it had everything we needed and more. she was always responsive. the beds were cosy, bathrooms were clean and amenities were more than we required. thank you Debbie.

Perfect location to get away from the city life! It has an English feel to it, filled with lots of character! We were greeted by two very friendly dogs. I'd love to stay again in winter so I can use the huge log burner!

Such a beautiful home, you can definitely see how a real family in NZ upbringing close to nature, plenty of memories. Such a warm and sweet family. The fireplace and stag head definitely adds a lot of character to home. The rain shower felt amazing, and the bath tub with view definitely melts away your sore body and feet after a long hike. The view of the mountain really breathtaking. The kitchen is very well equipped and the fridge is big enough for a family. We stay for 3 nights and really enjoyed that we took a day off just to stay home and just chilling. At night with clear sky you get to see the Milky Way, shooting stars and even aurora! Definitely one of our unforgettable highlight in NZ trip!

This home is in a beautiful and serene setting. It was about 1.5h from Christchurch airport and was the perfect antidote to the craziness of flying. At night, the only thing we could hear was the breeze and the gentle rain. I’d love to stay for a week. Annie was incredibly friendly and the welcome basket with homemade granola was tops. The basket also included potato chips made from the potatoes grown on the property! The kitchen was amazingly well stocked and my kid got to try Milo for the first time.

Greta place for a huge family to stay. Everyone had their own comfortable beds and was nice and warm throughout the stay with the heaters. Toilets were clean and the water pressure was good with constant hot water for all 10 of us during shower times. Location was near the petrol kiosk, supermarket and stretch of eateries. If I really had to pinpoint one thing to say, it would just be the walls were abit too thin for our comfort as we could hear like our own family chatter outside in the living room or kitchen even with the bedroom doors fully closed. But I will definitely choose to stay here again as it was worth every penny to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Jan’s place. We loved all of the details and the interesting art, books and furniture. It felt really homely and there were lots of helpful and thoughtful touches. The beds were all really comfortable with lovely fresh linen. Jan was an incredible host who really made sure that our stay was enjoyable. She was accommodating with a few last minute changes and always responded to messages promptly. We will definitely be booking a stay at Jans the next time we are in Otematata.

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful, small cottage nestled in nature. It was cozy and warm, with plenty of firewood provided to keep it naturally heated. The host was incredibly helpful and friendly, even keeping us company during our stay. The cottage is in a peaceful, secluded location surrounded by fresh air and greenery — perfect for a quiet getaway. The host also gave us great recommendations on nearby places to explore. We truly enjoyed our time here and definitely plan to visit again!

We had a fantastic stay here for a couple of nights. The setting was beautiful and Michele was kind enough to let us explore the stunning garden and enjoy some of her home grown veg. The welcome couldnt have been warmer. The accommodation was clean and cosy and was perfect for us and our two small children. A perfect alternative to staying in Tekapo. We would loved to have stayed longer. Would strongly recommend this place to others.

Great spot, ideal for our couple of days watching netball at stadium. Warm, comfortable and central location.

We loved this cute cottage. Owners had the heating on for us. Much nicer than phots suggested and wonderfully quiet as at the back of owners home. We were expected street front from the photos so it was a lovely surprise. Wished we stayed more than a night as Geraldine is so lovely.

Worth every penny spent. it has everything that you ask for, great rooms, great views, boat loads of amenities, huge collection of games, DVDs, books. the room upstairs provides you opportunity for Star gazing while lying on bed. perfect for family. my kid loved this home the most with so many things to do. absolutely perfect in all sense

Comfortable, clean and beautiful setting for our short trip to Pleasant Point. Ann was very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!

We loved staying in Warren's house. The combustion fire was very effective and created a lovely atmosphere. The house is a good size, sparkling clean, very well appointed and a great layout for families or two - three couples to stay. Lots of things left in the pantry like oil, tomato sauce and other things that would come in handy to save you having to buy everything if you want to cook your own meals. Overall, highly recommend this lovely home to anyone visiting Twizel.
