Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Dickinson County

It was our first time visiting the Okoboji area. We loved our stay. We had 3 families in our group. The kids loved having the basement all to themselves. It was so nice having the dock to pull the boat up to each day, and for the kids to fish off of as well. The hosts were very friendly & offered many suggestions for places to visit/eat. The kitchen was equipped with all the necessary equipment needed for cooking, although we spent most of our day on the water and ate at various places in the area. Fun to boat right up to eat your meals from the water. That was an experience the kids loved! We were nervous with the recent floods that the water conditions wouldn't allow for boating/swimming activities. We did find it nice that given the 5mph limit on the water the kids could swim safely from the dock as well as out in the water with minimal waves. It was like we had the lake to ourselves! The visit during the week probably helped with that too?!? Definitely recommend!

Jana was a great host - very responsive and helpful. The house felt very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The beach is not really walkable from the house (at least not with all the lake gear), but Jana generously allowed us to use her golf cart - which was so great! We would definitely stay here again with our family.

The Sunshine Shack was amazing. I loved this place!! The house had so many accommodations. All you need to bring is clothing and food. It has everything you would need for cooking, swimming, showering, sleeping, etc. Everything else is already there like your real home. It felt like a home away from home right away. They were very responsive when we had concerns or questions. It is a big house, great place for families or friends, dog friendly, very kid friendly, and loved how there were s’more, fire pit, game boards, enjoyed the sunroom to relax in. Would highly recommend for any stay in Okoboji. So close to all the main attractions as well and beaches. We stayed with a family of 9 and a dog and so roomy and spacious.

Perfect location! Tim and Yelena have a super cute place! Very accommodating! Parking is limited if you have more than 3 vehicles but other than that we’d stay again!

Thank you for allowing the opportunity for me and my family to enjoy Okoboji,Iowa. The layout of your home is beyond beautiful. HOME IS VERY CLEAN! The Garage was my favorite and me and the kiddos had a blast. I will always recommend your stay 10 out of 10 thank you so much.

This home is beautifully maintained and is a peaceful oasis to come back to after a day at the beach or on the water. Just a short drive to all the fun activities. Peaceful neighborhood with very nice neighbors.

The house was clean and had plentiful space for our family during Easter week and well supplied with essentials. Okoboji is a resort area and the season hadn't quite started yet, but the lake is nearby and walking trails are great for walking a dog. There are bike trails nearby too. Back to house - it has two living rooms up and downstairs, large kitchen area. But for me, personally, was the lanai which we used for Easter brunch and enjoyed sitting out there listening to music with a glass of wine. Wonderful place, and in-season, it would be even better.

A great place to stay

This cabin was perfect for our family! Host was excellent at communication and very accommodating! Would love to stay here again!

Great place to stay and Thomas was excellent to work with. Already have it booked for next year!! Received several compliments that it was the nicest place in the housing area. Overall, 5 stars!

The place was comfortable, lovely, and just a great place to be. It was pretty quiet above and below us which was awesome, made it more enjoyable for our dogs. Also a bonus that it was close to the elevator and stairwell, made for easy entry and exits! Had one parking spot for sure by the garage and also plenty of parking in the general area. Great green space to take the dogs outside too! The condo had everything we needed from kitchen utensils, plenty of towels, plenty of space and washer and dryer. It included passes , we didn’t get to use them with the weather but that’s ok! Overall, a gem of a place!

We had a great time in this condo. It was a great space for a small extended family getaway with 5 adults and 2 kids. I wish we had more time to enjoy some of the other things in the Okoboji area!

The place was nice and a great fit for our family. The game room is a fun touch and having access to the water park is a plus too!

Great place in a convenient location. It’s off the lake, but walkable to most of Arnold’s Park which is nice.

lovely stay as always. feels like being back at summer camp as a kid. we thoroughly enjoy our stay every year. side note, keep an eye on the disc golf tournaments and where you park. the golfers will continually ask you to move your vehicle.

Second time staying. Will still be back again next year

Loved every minute of our stay! Such a clean and modern townhome with sooo much space! We loved that It’s super close to all the action at Arnold’s park. It rained one of the nights while we were there, but we were totally content staying in because of the amount of space we had to gather was perfect. Would highly recommend!

Very pleasant stay! Everything was within walking distance! Wish the pool would have been open tho. The lights were a little tricky to figure out but we made do with what was available! Definitely looking forward to next year!

The staff saved our lives. Our camper had a major malfunction and without their help on a holiday we would not have made it out easily. Everyone was so friendly and the grounds are super beautiful! Cannot wait to go back. If you are tent camping and expect to sleep in they did start ground maintenance very early with mowers and such so that is the only downside.
