Barn holiday rentals in Devon

A great place to stay to explore beautiful Exmoor. The second time we have stayed there its clean, cosy and comfortable with fabulous views of the coast and access to great walks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. The place is exactly as described, a very cosy little cottage with everything you need. Everywhere was clean and tidy apart from general dust you’d expected, with a lovely little basket of treats left for us on arrival. Check in was self done, flexible, and smooth, same with leaving. Lovely little village, a couple of local pubs within walking distance, lovely cafe just next door along with some very friendly ducks, chickens, lambs, goats and the occasional cat. Would absolutely stay here again and 100% recommend if you’re looking for a cosy and quiet get away. During our stay we explored Cheddar, Glastonbury and Frome, all within an hours drive and lots of lovely cafes and independent shops.

Charming property and a charming host. Very comfortable 3 night stay in peaceful Latchley in the beautiful Tamar Valley. The property was spacious, clean and tidy with a private courtyard cottage garden and the convenience of car parking on site. A really peaceful location just a stones throw from riverside walks alongside the Tamar and beyond. We'd stay again without hesitation.

We had an amazing time over the bank holiday weekend! The barn was self check-in, but Fran went above and beyond to ensure everything was clearly communicated and stress-free. We arrived a bit earlier than expected, and Fran kindly allowed us to check in early, such a thoughtful gesture that made a big difference to our journey. The barn itself is stunning, with breathtaking views and plenty of outdoor space to explore. It was the perfect countryside escape. We were travelling with a 2-year-old, so the thoughtful touches like books, toys, and a stair gate were hugely appreciated. The only minor challenge was a few small, unexpected steps throughout the barn- absolutely fine for older kids and adults, but a bit tricky for our toddler to navigate. That being said, we couldn’t recommend this place more, it’s a beautiful, peaceful spot with everything you could need for a relaxing getaway.

We had an amazing weeks stay at the barn. Steve and Tessa were such amazing host, the barn is immaculate, clean, comfortable and very welcoming. They both went above to ensure that we were comfortable, providing extra dog towels, Steve instructions on how to find the barn, checking that we were warm enough and had everything we need. The barn is surrounded by beautiful tranquil forest and miles of walking routes. Thank you so much for having us .

Gorgeous place for myself partner and our nearly 3 year old and 5 month old fox red lab - all the amenities required A beautiful bedroom and relaxEd living space - the farm has plenty of space for walks and off lead enclosed field - Bude is only 20 minutes drive but for dogs Sandymouth and black rock beaches are a must visit with fab cafes x don’t be put off by not being in the centre - perfect excellent value for money- we would recommend the 16th century local pub/ eatery x

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Cider Barn. It was peaceful with beautiful views and we were lucky that the weather was good so we were able to make use of the pretty garden at the back. The house had a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable bed and a good shower. It was lovely to meet Sandra who was very friendly and the homemade oat cookies were delicious and much appreciated as were the eggs and milk. We would love to come and stay again in the future.

Lovely quiet spot to relax and unwind. Well situated to explore Tiverton, Exmoir and Knighthayes, not far from M5. Canal access at Halberton is worth seeking out. All amenities 15 mins away in Tiverton.

I spent one night at Richard's while working in the area and it was a great find. A beautifully designed and spotlessly clean hideaway with some very thoughtful touches, including a well equipped kitchenette, cosy sleeping area and some interesting designer furniture. Communication prior to my stay was good and Richard was friendly, welcoming and interesting to talk to when I arrived. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at Ruby Rose and we're definitely coming back. Denise was fantastic to deal with from the minute we booked. The place is amazing- we travelled with our daughter (5) and our dog and it was perfect. Lots of fun to be had outside and everything inside Ruby Rose was spotless, as described and beautiful. Denise supplied tea and coffee as well as an amazing welcome cake for us. The chickens were an added bonus as well. Can't recommend it highly enough!

This place is a beautiful home with a nice private backyard and very modern interior. The dog from the owner came over every day which was very nice for our kids. We arrived very late but everything was great from the beginning. On the first morning we received freshly baked bread from the owner. Within 30 minutes of driving there are lots of things to do. You can experience Cornwall including beautiful beaches but also relax in the house including a nice fireplace. Absolutely recommend this place!!!

We had a lovely stay at Susan's place. The property was beautifully furnished and had a very calming aura. Directions to the property were clear and the village itself is really lovely and peaceful. The view from the bathroom in the morning was stunning! The place was really clean - even though this is a dog friendly property (and we didn't bring any) Susan clearly took care to ensure the place was spotless and free from hair. We'd definitely stay again.

A beautiful part of Devon, easy access to Cornwall and the North Cornish coast, quite nice being next to the farm with all of the animals, very little light pollution meaning you can take nice nightscape photos if you desire, there is a nice walk directly from the house to a nearby village… thank you

We had a short break which was peaceful with lots of nature all around us. Some wonderful walks. The cottage was beyond expectations. We hope to visit again soon.

We had the most wonderful stay at Apple Barn! Alan and Davina are incredible hosts. The welcome tray is a lovely touch especially Davina’s delicious lemon cake. We loved the hot tub and the home itself is so comfortable, clean, well-decorated and contains anything you could possibly need. Thanks for a great stay, we will be back:)

Our stay at Rosemoor Lodge was wonderful and relaxing. Jane the host was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here. We are looking forward to booking our next stay here again.

Gail made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Charming country barn meets elegance; the barn conversion is so sweet and quaint whilst also having a generous amount of space to relax into. We had a wedding nearby - the space was excellent for the added attire we had brought with us. The kitchen was perfect with everything we needed, the lounge, also extremely comfortable with a rustic gas fireplace to enjoy in the evenings. The separate bedroom and king size bed was a dream! it was such a relaxing space with a private outside area and endless views of the country side. The information Gail had in the barn was really helpful and easy to digest. One of our favourite aspects was having Flora and Dolly (two beautiful black Labradors) greet us as we came and went, they were so sweet, silly and gentle. We also made use of the tennis court on site which was an added bonus with Flora and Dolly on duty to catch any balls that strayed over the fence. We had an amazing holiday!

The surroundings were beautiful, with a lovely back garden and seating, the weather was on our side and complemented an already ideal setting. Our hosts were informative and helpful and supplied us with fresh eggs and milk on our arrival. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again in the future

My friends and I (in our 40s) stayed at Alison’s beautiful barn for 2 nights. It was spacious, clean and everything had been thought of. It was perfect for our annual get together and the weather was glorious so we made use of the outdoor space and hot tub overlooking the fields and the cows! We all loved our stay and Alison was a friendly and responsive host. We shall be returning!

We loved staying at the Coach house it was just as in the pictures, and clean/comfortable with many mod cons. The Cream tea provided was delicious and the milk from the Milkiosk was fun/special. Our spaniel loved the field to run round in, although he was a bit naughty on occasion straying with the excitement. The pool is heaven, especialy as it is timetabled per unit meaning we had it all to ourselves for our turns (what a great idea). Just a great location with some lovely beaches and walks along the coastline. We loved it so much we have already booked again for next year.

We really enjoyed our short break in the Dairy. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable and spacious. Whitford is a quiet village, but the pub at Musbury is only a 20 minute stroll down the lane. The tramway station at Colyton is also walkable from the barn. We recommend this place to others.

We really enjoyed Clare’s place. The chalet was very comfortable, well decorated and spotless. The view over the estuary down towards Teignmouth is beautiful - lovely decking area with outdoor seating to enjoy it.

What an amazing place! We recently enjoyed three nights at Ruggadon Barn, one of the best places we have stayed at. The accommodation is second to none and is in one of the most peaceful and beautiful countryside locations in Devon. It’s ideally positioned for sightseeing trips, walking and other outdoor activities. Jonny and Lydia are such likeable hosts; so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Pluto and Dora, their adorable spaniels, were always on hand to provide us with a warm welcome during our stay and they made great friends with our Cockapoo, Mollie! Thank you Jonny and Lydia for making our stay so special. We look forward to a return visit!
