Holiday rentals with a kayak in DeKalb County

Emmye & Seth have an amazing home with easy access to the town of Mentone. Its right on the water so if you like to fish or have a campfire or just sit outside and visit with friends this would be the ideal place for that. The screened-in porch is nice on cool nights to have dinner as well. The home is plenty big with an open kitchen and living area along with bedrooms upstairs and downstairs. Their is plenty of lighting throughout the house as well and was very clean and cozy during our visit. I would recommend anyone to stay here. The house is in a nice secluded, peaceful area and not from town if you need something. Emmye & Seth were also very responsive to our inquiries while staying there and were very helpful when needed. Thank you for everything and we hope to come and stay here again in the near future!

This house is EVERYTHING! Lake view, sauna, hot tub, beautiful inside and out. If you’re looking for a getaway home this is it! Plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs. 2 fully stocked kitchens, bathrooms have everything you need and bedrooms come with extra pillows and blankets.. Everything you need for a nice vacation without the hassle of having to pack or buy so many extra things. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We will 100% be back next year.

Enjoyed our stay at this relaxing lake house! Really enjoyed the hot tub and amenities at this location. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city which was nice. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat this is a great place to stay.

Very spacious home with plenty of amenities for a relaxing stay. We appreciated the kitchen's being so well stocked with plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, and cooking utensils. (So many places boast having a full kitchen but don't give you enough tableware to prepare meals for the number of guests they claim to accommodate.) Spending sunset on the top level of the dock, with the surrounding frog chorus and lapping water, was magical.

Such a beautiful cabin. It was just amazing all around. Lisa and her husband are great people! They will guide you to all the great food in the area and things to do. I have no complaints at all. One thing, not a complaint either, just be aware it is not a good area to swim or float in the water. Very grassy and muddy. Still beautifully amazing to enjoy the view and lake, just not swimable to cool off. Would definitely stay here again, it was just the best cabin ever

Our family of 4 (two young children) absolutely had the best vacation at Magnolia Outlook! The amenities, the variety of things to do, the views of the lake, the privacy (even with neighbors) was just next level. Everything in the unit was thoughtful - like a starter kit for a fire, coolers to borrow, extra towels, very well stocked kitchen, games and blankets. We even requested a full size coffee pot and it was ready and waiting for us. We were so at home. The pool was amazing and clean and safe, and the lake was at a good distance from the house so that we didn't need to worry about kids getting away from us. The host provided a very helpful hospitality book that helped us navigate the area and find an amazing hiking trail that led to the river creekbed. There really isn't anything negative to say except we wished we could stay longer. We look forward to returning!

Laurie’s home was exactly as described. It was bright, open and airy. She has the home stocked with anything you could need for your stay. There were only a handful of us staying, but the home could easily have worked for twice as many. The property is so peaceful, with lots of outdoor space to enjoy the sun and lake. We were traveling for a bass tournament and the dock was a great place to tie up the boat, catch a few fish or just sit and watch the wildlife. We hope her home is available again next time we are in Scottsboro.

We had such a relaxing and fun weekend away! The view is GORGEOUS and the cottage is as cute as can be. Angela is a wonderful host, and we can’t wait to return!

The cabin was perfect for our family Christmas getaway!! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare great meals. The location is secluded but still close enough to get to stores if you forget something and there is a lot of amazing hiking within a short drive of the cabin. Misti was an amazing host and super proactive in communications and everything was very clear. I would highly recommend! And they decorated for Christmas (even with a tree) so we felt right at home!

The photos don’t do justice to the beautiful surroundings of this home. I kayaked up the Little River and it was just so serene and lovely. Having the entire property fenced was wonderful for our dog. The inside was clean and they even had dog bowls and some leashes for our pet. Good water pressure, high quality towels. We were lucky enough to be there on the weekend of a major local rodeo and that really made our trip memorable!

we had a great experience! Will definitely recommend this place to friends. loved the Dock and kayaks at our disposal. Also DeSoto falls was just short walk down the road!

Rachel's place was great we had a party of 7 and had plenty of room Very rustic. The kitchen was not as big as it looked in the pictures but she had everything you needed to do any cooking also made sure we had a crockpot. Great view of the lake. She was very responsive when I had a question. It could use a little TLC especially on the decks. If you like old rustic charm this is for you. The decks are huge and a fire pit but we didn't get to enjoy them as much as we wanted to because it rained almost everyday we were there. When in the area you need to try Southern Harvest Restaurant in the Lookout Mountain area near Fort Payne

We had a lovely time with our children and grandchildren. Great set up for several families, plenty of room and great outdoor area including a pond, fire pit and ping pong. They also had a grill and a Blackstone for outdoor cooking as well. This place is highly recommended for this area of the country !

Had a great time. Excellent get away from it all location with lots of room and lots of character. 10 guests, could have comfortably taken more.

We had a great time. The cabin was very clean and spacious with plenty of sleeping and seating areas and lots of windows. The back view was nice with the river flowing by. You can use the deck or stand inside looking out all of the windows to watch the river. You can also walk down the hillside to the chairs by the river and even build a fire in the pit. We got to watch a group of kids paddleboarding by. The available canoe was a plus for us.
