Cottage holiday rentals in Cresswell

Sundial is a beautiful cottage, central to Skelton. The cottage is comfortable and has the convenience of a downstairs and upstairs bathroom / shower and a separate utility room. I booked Sundial for the hot tub and this feature didn’t disappoint. A superb way of relaxing after a busy day. We visited Saltburn (walkable along the Cleveland way) and Whitby (I highly recommend the Park & Ride). Before coming home I drove to Marske-on-sea where my dogs and I enjoyed a gorgeous walk along the wide, open beach. Marske has a dog friendly cafe (The dog house) if any dog lovers are reading this review!

Honeymug provided the perfect backdrop for our group of six meeting up to reminisce about college days forty odd years ago! The cottage was comfortable and cosy and the welcome basket of goodies was indeed most welcome! Very comfortable beds to sleep off the long, coastal walks and swims in the indoor pool. We ate in The Bosk on our last evening and enjoyed it very much, having sampled the Friday evening pizzas too! Everyone was a fan of the outdoor jacuzzi, which we booked each evening and whirled away an hour chatting to the various local members we shared it with! Everyone was so friendly and we learned a lot about the area. Highlights were our boat trip to Inner Farne, an afternoon with the Chillingham cattle, and a day spent on the beautiful and peaceful Lindisfarne. We left feeling there was so much else to discover and we'll hope to be back to do just that! Many thanks John!

Really cosy place, awesome decor and a huge bed. Would love to visit in winter to make use of the fireplaces (the weather was too good this weekend!) Hot tub was great and pizza oven fantastic. Thanks for having us!

Comfortable home in beautiful surroundings. Really responsive and friendly host. En-suite bathrooms to each bedroom and the beds were super comfy. Great parking and charger for electric car - lovely walks nearby along the river and the horse in the field behind had just given birth to a foal so our daughter was mesmerised. Oh I forgot the hot tub - that was great too!

Amazing stay at Gatehouse Barn. It is a really lovely, homely, welcoming place to stay. Plenty of sleeping options downstairs and up and a cosy living space. Also loads of seating areas outside which were perfect to enjoy the sun. The area is really quiet and peaceful and the location of the barn is extra secluded and private. As a final bonus, the attached spa area was a real treat after long walks (loads of which can start literally from the front door).

We had an absolute wonderful two-night stay at this cottage! It's lovely, spotlessly clean, and incredibly well-equipped with everything you could need. The welcome gifts were a delightful surprise, and the hosts were so friendly and quick to respond to all our messages. The location is perfect, just a short few minutes drive to the beach. What truly stood out was their amazing hospitality: we accidentally left something behind, and they sent it to us via next-day delivery without hesitation. We can't recommend this place enough!

We had a lovely relaxing weekend at this property. The local surroundings are beautiful and the house was clean and very well equipped. The hot tub was a nice addition and communication with our host was excellent from start to finish. I would happily recommend a stay here :)

This house is a home from home. Everything you might need and so much you hadn’t even thought of. Carolyn is an excellent host. Spotlessly clean everywhere. Beautiful welcome basket with both necessities and treats. Sipping bubbles on the balcony watching the sunset; what more could you need. The upstairs lounge was so beautiful, with lots of restful seating, lots of tables for drinks (with enough mats too), nice reading area and a cupboard full of books if it’s wet. We were lucky with the weather, but the house would easily keep you entertained in bad weather. Nice to have fresh flowers. The house was the right temperature and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a lovely surprise. The kitchen and bat(room cupboards have absolutely everything you’ll ever need and more. Great system for leaving all used items in one bag at check-out. Carolyn is a super efficient, super friendly host. Without doubt a fab-u-lous place to holiday. Thank you

What a great place to stay, really peaceful yet easy to reach the places we wanted to see, but definitely need a car for this. Ian and Felicity were really helpful with local knowledge and the accommodation had a lot of information about where to visit. Really happy to recommend this, was anything lacking? Definitely not.

A perfect spot for a calm, away from it stay for us. Felt at home straight away, slept brilliantly and so handy for delightful walks to and from the village pubs. Monty our dog felt the same! We had a great time at Jane’s place in Amble. The location was good for us without a car. There are nearby supermarkets and bus stop and it’s a few minutes walk to the harbour. Warkworth and Alnmouth are in easy reach. Comfort is important to us. We liked the comfy bed / bedding / sofas / footstool / blankets and the smart tv with Netflix. There is a good shower and bath too. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a washing machine. We enjoyed sitting outside to eat in the cute little garden area. Jane was a great, responsive host! Thank you Jane, we will definitely be back!

Very cosy 3- bedrooms terraced cottage tucked away in a quiet corner of the lovely seaside town of Amble. It’s less than 5 minutes walk to the seafront and 10 into the town centre which has some great cafes and restaurants. The cottage is really nicely fitted out and finished. Very clean, neat and tidy. Very comfortable. We liked the booklets giving lots of details of surrounding attractions. Parking is a very short distance away, 100 metres maybe.

Just returned home from a lovely stay in the amazing Bartlehill Cottage. Absolutely spotlessly clean and even nicer than the photos. The garden is beautiful and the woodland walk was perfect for our lively terriers! The cottage is so well equipped and lots of thought has been given to supplying pretty much everything you may need. Furnishings and bedding are super quality and very comfortable. Lowri is the most perfect host, helpful and very responsive to messages. It was our first visit to Northumberland and the Scottish Borders and we'll definitely be returning to Bartlehill to do some more exploring!

We had such a lovely break at this beautiful home. The place was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and filled with natural light – it truly felt like a home away from home. Everything we needed (and more!) was provided, which made our stay incredibly comfortable and stress-free. Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. As a special touch, we were warmly welcomed with freshly baked bread and scones, which went down an absolute treat – such a thoughtful gesture! We had a truly wonderful time at Stewart’s cottage, it’s the perfect base after long days out walking and adventuring. We couldn’t wait to get back to the log fires, hot baths and comfy beds. The surroundings are private and peaceful and we felt right at home. The entire cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you would need during your stay, lots of really nice personal touches too. We were a family of four and felt as though there was lots of space to relax alone or together. Thank you for a beautiful stay, we can’t wait to come back!!

The cottage was lovely. The views of the sea were amazing. The drift cafe was very good. So nice to be that close to the sea.Very nice beach.

We came here straight from our wedding with our two girls for our family moon and couldn’t have asked for anything more. From the moment we arrived with the little arrival touches to Susan setting out toys appropriate for our girls ages and the baby equipment we needed. We have never felt more welcomed especially with young children. After 3 days here I feel more relaxed than I do if I’ve been away longer and the kids have never slept so well thanks to the brook at the back of the house. Waking up and feeding the lambs on our literal doorstep was a highlight for us and the girls. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome and the memories made in your home xxx

Amanda personally welcomed us upon arrival and took the time to show us round the cottage, explaining where everything was and how things worked. The cottage itself is beautiful, extremely well kept and full of all the bits and pieces you need to have a most enjoyable stay, including those nice little extras such as tea, coffee, milk and wine to welcome you. The view from the cottage is stunning and the local village itself has lovely little shops and cafes. The area itself has lots of walks through lovely countryside and numerous places of outstanding natural beauty. A little further out, there are a number of museums, towns, historical places that are worth exploring, including Hadrian's Wall and the Pennines. This is an ideal place for a relaxing break, out in the countryside soaking up the atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Beautiful property in a stunning seafront location. The cottage had all the amenities we needed with a wonderful view of the sea. Nigel and Jane were very welcoming and recommended a bistro in Amble, Jaspers which was one of the best meals we have had in a long time.

We stay in The Drive for 3 nights. The accomodation is beautiful and exceptionally clean. The views from the windows don't disappoint, they are breathtaking. It a little journey to Hexham but there is plenty to do there with lovely shops and cafés. We love Northumberland and have been going with our family every year for the last 13 years. We didn't want to come home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sue’s pristine and tasteful cottage. It had everything we needed to enjoy our restful stay - thoroughly recommend and will be back!
