Family-friendly holiday rentals in County Donegal

Grace's house was a real treat! Nestled away in the trees overlooking the river made it feel so private and peaceful. The house itself was so cosy, clean and inviting but had plenty of space and different areas to relax. The grounds were amazing and the kids had a ball discovering the swings, hottub and reading shed. The whole place was magical and we were sad to leave. Grace was very responsive to any communication and made us feel so welcome. The house location was a great base for some of the stunning sights Donegal has to offer and we were very close to many beautiful sandy beaches. This house was the best airbnb we have ever stayed in! We can't wait to come back, thanks so much Grace

We had a lovely week in Milford. Quiet, peaceful surroundings but close to all amenities. Hot tub was great!

Visited here for 5 days and it was a great experience. The place was clean, plenty of room for 4 people and kitted out with all of the essentials we needed for our stay. The location is excellent with plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops, within walking distance. Tricia was attentive and was very good at communicating with us throughout our stay and even dropped in some cupcakes for us. Will heavily consider coming back here when we next visit Ireland.

The place really worth the money. Nice surroundings, half an hour to the beach. Jacuzzi is a bonus! The host very nice and helpful. Really would recommended this place.10 out of 10😊

We had a fantastic time staying at Shelia's place (The Snug). Situated in the quiet village of Dunkineely located between Donegal Town and Killybegs, the accommodation is the ideal base to explore this part of Donegal. The enclosed large garden, which has a wonderful view over the bay, was perfect for our dog Molly. The people of the village were very friendly, there is a Mace 1 min walk away should you need anything and you'll receive a warm welcome (dogs too !!) in Macs Bar if you fancy a pint. We didn't need to contact the host during our stay as we had no problems and everything about the place was perfect. My only complaint is we didn't stay longer. We plan to make a return visit.

Das Cottage und das Grundstück sind sehr gepflegt und wir hatten wundervolle 4 Tage. Zur Begrüßung stand eine Flasche Wein, Wasserflaschen, ein Kuchen und frische Blumen in der Küche. Das ist sehr aufmerksam gewesen und keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Der County Donegal ist sehr schön und wir haben tolle Ausflüge unternommen. Vielen Dank für alles.

Just lovely wee place.. the fully fenced garden was brilliant for my dog, the garden is huge, the cottage was very cosy, very warm, bed comfortable, shower great. Noreen was a great communicative host and even supplied a ball for my dog!! Would not hesitate to recommend area, property and host... we had bad weather one day, a perfect excuse to just curl up and and indulge In the fabulous home, heat and a book!! Everything was as described, perfectly clean and everything you could want for a short or long stay!!

Cosy, warm, bright, airy and exceptionally clean. Very well equipped throughout, particularly the kitchen. The cottage is a great place to experience the Rosguill peninsula regardless of the changeable Donegal weather. In particular, the sunroom has beautiful views across Sheephaven bay. It was a perfect place for our two dogs. Close to beaches & an ideal location for an superb stay in the Downings area.

WE HAVE STAYED AT ROSE MARIE'S COTTAGE A NUMBER OF TIMES OVER THE PAST VIEW YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS HAD A GREAT STAY.

We loved John’s so much last year, we found a 5 night slot for June we reserved in November, and flew across the ocean to savor it. John is great, and we loved talking to him about his animals and helping to feed the lambs, who were much friendlier this year than last! John’s land is beyond words, very therapeutic in these troubled times. Accessing internet at Malin Head made communicating with family across an ocean quite seamless. This year, in contrast to last, we did regular exploring in Donegal ~~ Glenevin Falls, Gap of Mamore, Famine Village, Carrickabraghy Castle, Nancy’s Barn in Ballyliffin ( award inning chowder and more), Five Fingers Strand etc. ~~ so much to explore, and plenty further afield. Don’t book if you need state of art appliances and bathrooms, but John’s thatched roof little cottage is charming, fine for meal prep, and a perfect base for exploring beautiful Donegal. John, his animals and his land are memorable, a one of a kind delight.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The space is excellent - homely and cosy yet with plenty of room. The open fire is great for cooler evenings. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need. There’s also a sunroom on the side of the house which is lovely and bright if it’s not warm enough to sit outside. The cottage is close to beautiful beaches and there are a few shops nearby if you need groceries or fuel. We would definitely stay again!

Jill and Alistair could not have been better hosts. From initial booking inquiry through checkout, they were incredibly helpful, responsive, friendly, and went the extra mile without any prompt. Directions to the stay were crystal clear, the property is immaculate, beautiful, private, and well located for the exploration of Finad and all of Donegal. Rathmullan is a wonderful town, and I can not recommend enough a stay with Jill, and Alistair, and especially their wonderful dogs. Alistair was extra helpful in navigating the area, providing recommendations, asking for feedback, and saving a few strokes up at Portsalon Golf Club. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay well within reach of some of Ireland's most beautiful drives, landmarks, and scenery, this is the place to be. We have travelled quite a bit over the last few years, and this stay was the best we have experienced due to not only location, but the hospitality of Jill and Alistair. A review of 5 stars is too few.

I Recently stayed at Shauns beautiful cottage and was blown away by this quaint little step back in time. Directions were clear to get to and the cottage was spotless clean with one of the most comfortable beds iv'e ever slept in. Whilst it was driving distance of some lovely towns/villages i also felt completely isolated and peacful. One of my dogs is a rescue Anatolian Shepherd who can be vocal when she hears noises but i honestly didnt hear her bark once as she was also so relaxed. The location has one of the most beautiful beaches ive ever seen which was empty of people everytime we went. The cottage felt very "Old World" but had everything you could need for a very comfortable stay. Thank you Shaun and his team for this lovely experience. I will definitely be back and would and will recommend to anyone who wants a quiet trip away. Be back soon.

What a pretty little slice of heaven - the true Irish experience. I’ll never get over the views out the front door as I did my work from the dining room table each day. Maura deserves an extra special shout-out (and hug). I ran into a small snafu my first night in town and she sat with me in the dining room and helped me make some calls until my issue was resolved. In my opinion, that goes way above and beyond the expectations of an Airbnb host. Whether she was around the property or not, she was always responsive. The cottage itself was a dream and within easy driving distance to Malin Head, Giants Causeway, etc. Triple five stars!

We enjoyed this place and everything matched the photos. Instructions were clear and host was always responsive. The house was very comfortable and contained everything we needed. The area is lovely with lots to do and we will definitely be back again.

what a beautiful place the pink house was to stay in. close to beach. even found a local bus took us to donegal. the pink house was roomy, clean and lots of space. everything you needed was there. loved seeing the bunnies on the front drive every morning.

We enjoyed our stay, all of the wonderful recommendations, and watching the sunset from the deck. It’s an easy, short drive to stunning beaches and Glenveagh.

We had a great stay at Helen’s accommodation, my 3 girls and me had plenty of room in the home with a large enough garden to play outside whilst I got ready for our daily adventures. Loads of places to go for nice walks all within very short distance and the large city of Derry was only 40 minutes away for the spectacular Halloween event. My kids loved staying at this warm and cosy home, they slept well and just loved the idea that it was so quiet and peaceful. Definitely will stay here again. Nice house not far from Loch Eske. If you want a place that’s quiet and away with a ton of space it’s great. About 10 mins up a narrow road near Donegal.
