Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Chester County

I feel lucky to have discovered "White Oak Retreat" for our 3-night visit to Lancaster to celebrate my son's engagement. Our group, which included four generations aged 3 to 84, all had a wonderful time. It was impeccably clean and well-stocked. We couldn't have asked for a better Stay, and Lindsay is an amazing host.

It is a five (5) star hotel with fully equipped home away home Airbnb! We’ve been to different Airbnb’s around the world, experience at this beautiful Bridge Covered Cottage is one of our bests! We’ve enjoyed every minute of the staying/visiting in Lancaster PA. We appreciate your thoughtful hospitality. Our families and friends will definitely hear about our good stories at this beautiful and unique cottage.

Perfect Rental! Lovely Rustic finished-basement in a private home, in an upscale neighborhood on the Mainline. Huge Living Room, large Bar/Kitchenette area, large bedroom with ensuite bathroom; outside there are several different seating areas in the large/bucolic back yard. Retired couple from Florida rented Don's place for a week while helping our daughter, who was moving into an apartment in the area. The rental was exactly as described, and was perfect for our needs; I can't imagine having to spend a week in a cramped hotel room! After long days of packing and moving, we sat outside in the beautiful backyard and enjoyed a beverage.... and a cigar for me! The homeowner, Don, lives in the house..... but he is completely unobtrusive; he greeted us briefly upon our arrival, and all subsequent contact with him was initiated by us. He is a friendly, helpful guy..... and we will definitely stay with him again during our future visits with our daughter.

Indescribable peace, serenity, and splendor! Cody was above and beyond in being accommodating and responsive! I cannot stress that enough. The house is perfectly designed and furnished! The pool and hot tub were inviting and wonderful! The nature, sunrises, sounds of birds chirping...No need to bother with packing, security lines for planes, trains, and automobiles for a getaway for me anymore ! Being at this house was no different than taking some far away trip. It had everything a resort would have without the fuss and muss of travel and people! My travel companion could not join me, so I was by myself! I got to experience true tranquility, peace, and mindfulness! I felt safe and secure. Only recommendation, is to give instructions for the A/C and washing machine, but I figured it out. Internet was great speed for working. I clearly would highly recommend a stay at the King's House, even for a queen or princess! Thank you Cody and Suzanne for a wonderful stay! One word, fabulous!

The Cottage on Main is close to everything we visit the New Holland area for. Shadey is only 2 mins away for great donuts in the morning, so that's a bonus. We enjoyed another great stay at the Cottage on Main and will be back again. Thank you.

Genine and Mike were great hosts. It was lovely to have picnics near the lake and the guest house was cozy.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautifully decorated home. The property is peaceful and scenic, with a lovely creek and walking trails right outside the door—perfect for relaxing and unwinding. We really appreciated the thoughtful welcome basket and the cozy touches throughout the house that made it feel like home. There was a bit of noise from the nearby parkway, but the host had a white noise machine available, which helped a lot and showed great attention to guest comfort. Annette was incredibly kind and responsive, even offering us some great local recommendations when our planned event was unexpectedly cancelled. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a serene getaway with a personal touch!

The house and garden were lovely! Just as pictured. The kitchen was well-equipped for us to use. The main bedroom and bath were exceptionally comfortable and attractive. We spent a lot of time on the patio in the backyard. There was room for our party of 5 around the tables, both indoor and outdoor. The sunroom was welcoming and relaxing. Be aware that the staircase to the bedrooms is steep, but there are handrails on both sides. Also, check in is on the later side and check out is early. We asked for, and received, an extra half hour on check out. Parking in the area is good. Area attractions were close by and the local area in town very walkable.

This was one of the best Airbnbs I’ve stayed at! It was clean and was such a cute space. We had no issues at all during our stay. It was quiet and in a super nice neighborhood. We would definitely return the next time we visit Amish country!

Rose is a the super host of super hosts. She provides clear instructions from start to finish and really cares about the comfort of her guests. The apartment is spotless and in great shape. The neighborhood is peaceful and on a very quiet street away from traffic. This is our second stay, and we’ll be back again next year!

Cam to town for a lacrosse tournament with my daughter and can't speak highly enough of this property. Tucked away off an adoreable main drag, the property was exactly as shown in the photos. Excellent communication from Matt and sparklingly clean. Would absolutely stay again!

Our stay was great! The space was private and comfortable. We reached out to Sonia for a tour of the farm and her and her family happily showed us around! The scenery was beautiful. We hope to come back one day!

Very clean and comfortable, spacious, and good location. I was able to easily find restaurants with gluten-free options, and kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and cooking implements.

The space was very nice, we weren’t actually there much as we were visiting family in the area but it was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen is a little dated looking but very clean. The bathroom looks updated and the carpet upstairs looks new. Beds and pillows were comfortable and nice, my husband loved the bath towels, they were large and plush, he says most places the towel are too small. Great location, very quiet, farms and fields surround the property and it’s minutes away from local Amish. It was perfect for our family of 4, 2 adults, a teen and a preteen. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful experience, I really can't say one negative thing. Beautiful farm located in Amish country. My wife and I loved petting the calves, dogs and kittens. Wilma had cookies, bread, milk and eggs for us. Can't wait to go back!

Swallow’s Rest (host Henry) is a place of peace nestled in Avon Grove. I have used this location several times for visiting judges and now a rider in working equitation shows. Everyone loves this cozy, well appointed air bnb! I will reserve again for a judge in October! Thanks Henry!

Excellent location. Really convenient with super strong WiFi. Such a cool neighborhood and for that reason parking can be a little tough at night. Just plan for that.

This is a wonderful apartment. The place was clean, beds very comfortable, linens superb, plenty of towels, etc. It was decorated in an elegant, but homey way. The kitchen was fabulous -- better appliances than mine at home and a great coffee maker! And stocked with anything a chef would need. The town is very cute with some great restaurants, stores and coffee shops that Deanna told us about. Very quaint and quiet, but accessible to where we had to go in Delaware. Highly recommended!

Marc place was a little piece of paradise looking over a wide vista of trees and distant beautiful architecture ….. street parking was no problem and it was close to everywhere it seemed! It was quiet and secluded and cosy warm ☺️

Erica’s place is like being at home. The host are so kind & respectful. I loved the stocked kitchen , the cozy fire place , and the local recommendations that Erica added in the guest manual. I’m in love with the place as a whole , it’s very convenient & any questions I had Erica responded quickly ! 10/10 !

Nikhil was an outstanding host: Top-tier responsiveness; Great communication; Flexible; Proactive; Clearly very thoughtful in in so many of the choices taken in preparing a place for guests to feel comfortable and cared for like wireless chargers, diverse lighting, extra towels and toiletries. Really enjoyed the unique setup and will want to stay there again. Even parking was incredible: Free only 20 feet from the rear entryway. Free parking in any city is a real bonus! Thanks Nikhil for accommodating a great last-minute stay at your cool place!
