We had an amazing stay at Varghese's homestay. We 4 moms along with 4 kids stayed. we took 4 rooms and all rooms were clean n well maintained. Varghese and family were very helpful. you ask for the help n you get it right there. Since we had kids, we wanted well cooked homely food and Varghese got yummy local style food cooked for all of us. Beach is just 2mins walk from the homestay. Since place is well maintained well, our kids also enjoyed playing in warranda and in the garden. overall it was a very nice and safe stay for all of us. I would definitely recommend this homestay and visit again if we visit Marari beach again. Thanks to Varghese, his family and staff!!

we were guests of this charming room with private bathroom just a stone's throw from the beach. In the morning we were pampered by Macedonian, tea and slices of bread. our guest then helped us with extreme kindness and care to find another accommodation as we wanted to extend the stay but our room was rented to others.

I was there for a month. Idyllic place in a quiet, rural area, a 45 second walk to the beach, with a porch from which you can hear the sound of waves crashing. Hot shower and cool A/C. The best service I’ve ever had at an Airbnb by Jeffin, who happily made me meals and brought me tea throughout the day. Challenges as a digital nomad: the wifi is usually fast, but it goes down several times a day, and the cellular data is usually only 1 or 2 bars from the room. Power outages are at least once a day. There is a power backup, but it requires turning the generator on (which was done). The room only has a narrow window. I wished that there was a screen on the window so that I could turn the A/C off at night and open the window without bugs coming in. I hope that this place gets more reliable internet by upgrading to fiber and getting a power inverter, and a mobile signal booster. Finally, it states that there is a beach view. This is not true. But overall, I was happy and productive.

A fabulous place with an extremely accommodative host

John’s place is a beautiful quiet location with a big garden and palm trees right by the beach . It’s very chilled and relaxing to hang out there. The little houses we slept in were great with a porch and chairs to look out on to the water. The breakfast was traditional Indian food , very tasty with fresh juices every morning . The only thing I was missing was the yoga classes . His wife ( the teacher) wasn’t around . Maybe Christmas timings were the reason but I was a little disappointed because it’s called yoga retreat . Everything else was amazing with a secluded beach to ourselves and a good walk to allepey beach or a short tuckruck ride to Marari beach . John was very helpful with his suggestions and travel arrangements . I would definitely come again .

The place was super nice, right next to the ocean. Great facilities. Both Diphna and her mom were amazing hosts, always asked if we needed something, prepared amazing breakfast and also booked us a autorickshaw on our way out. They also provided 1 hour extra stay at the house as our train was a bit later. Overall highly recommended. Very warm hosts, and very nice place to relax and unwind

My family had a lovely stay! The location is perfect. just a short walk to the beach, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food (breakfast) was delicious and had a homely touch that made us feel right at home. It’s a great pick for both families and couples. Would love to stay here again for a longer visit!

Samson is a great host. His place is a quaint and awesome place on the beach itself. They took care of us very well and it was a great experience. Will surely go back

Beautiful place on the beach. We had dinner there which was delicious, while they do not serve alcohol they allowed us to bring our own and have it at dinner and on the beach. We were only there for one night so we did not leave and try to explore the area but the garden and beach area were lovely and peaceful so it was nice to just sit there. The room was spacious and the bathroom was beautiful with open air shower.

We had a wonderful time at Jesudas's place.He was extremely hospitable and was very flexible with the check in check out time. He gave a lot of local recommendations and helped us plan our itinerary. Mummy who stayed downstairs was warm and welcoming. Gave us a great cup of coffee and we had some great conversation with her. Such a sweet lady! Definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a cozy place near the Azhapuzha beach

We really enjoyed our stay with Dominic. We had some initial difficulties at the beginning but were able to sort them out quickly and were very satisfied in the end. The location is perfect and really only a jump away from the beach. Dominic is a relaxed and nice guy who recommended a few local things and organised a kayak tour during sunrise.

Jerin was an excellent host and was helpful throughout our stay. We were provided with 2 bedrooms with attached bathooms. He provided good food and helped us with local transport to station and back. The rooms were basic but comfortable. There was no washing machine but a person was there to help hand wash the clothes. Bathrooms could have had better fittings but one cannot complain as the proximity to the beach meant any fitting would rust due to the salty sea air. The house is a 2 minute walk from the beach. The beach itself was spectacular, with hardly any debris. The waters were calm and clean. If you go in the early morning you can see the fishermen bring in their catch. We had a lovely trip and must once again thank Jerin for his hospitality.

A great Kerala heritage place to stay at. Walkable distance from Maratikulam beach. Host made sure that we have a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend it to all :)

Truly an authentic Kerala jungle/beach experience - with all that goes with such authenticity. Our party was warmly welcomed and generously cared for during the week we stayed with Abi and Minnie. We particularly enjoyed the food, lazing in the hammocks and sorties to Marari Beach.

Everything went fine and the place was worth to stay, but need some improvements in keeping essentials like a little fridge, microwave and drinking water facilities. One more thing to add is mosquito repellents like All-out or mortein in rooms as well. Overall i recommend this place.

A really good stay if you're looking for something peaceful near Marari Beach. The place is surrounded by greenery, with neat and comfortable rooms. We were served breakfast and tea, which added a lovely homely touch. It's maintained by the host's parents, who were warm and welcoming. Just a heads-up, reaching the property was a bit tricky as the tuk-tuk couldn’t drive through the sandy path, so we had to carry our luggage a short distance. Overall, a calm and cozy stay amidst nature and perfect for a laid-back beach getaway.
