In Poligny, capital of the Comté gruyère, in a century-old family house, initially ripening cellar, in a vast wooded park, flat on one level, very well oriented ,fresh without air conditioning even during heat waves, with terrace, barbecue, private parking. 1 double bed in the bedroom, sleeping for a young child in the living room on the couch ,not convertible. Possibility of 3 rd adult bed on request. All shops within 5 min walk, nearby municipal swimming pool.

I really loved staying at Julie and Andrea’s place- it was calm, peaceful and yet right in the heart of Poligny. The flat had everything I needed and more for my stay. I loved the area, it was a good base for hiking and sampling the delicious cheese and wine from the area. Julie and Andrea were kind and communicative. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place!

Nice gite, and very spacious. Near centre of poligny ( walking distance), not a lot of restaurants and cafe’s but a couple of good and nice places. Cooking facilities are good so you can also stock good cheese, beef and vegetables at the locale shops and traiteurs/ fromageries. Nice area with good walking opportunities.

We loved every minute of being in the house. It is large, authentic, really nicely decorated with colours, antique French furniture and a beautiful garden. We felt at home. For example, in the living room you can find lots of nice tableware and glasses to have a great diner at the large table. Or, you have your own 'movie room', where you can watch endlessly DVD's together. The village is small and nothing really happens there, but that means it is quiet, especially at night. When having a car, you can drive to Poligny, only 3 kilometers away. In the surroundings of Barretaine, we enjoyed very much the lovely villages like Chateau Chalon and Beame-les-Messieurs. Jura wine is very interesting, where we discovered the Vin de Paille! Barretaine is a great location to go all around in the best parts of Jura with mountains, lakes and villages. Last, but not least; Martial and Pascal are the best hosts! They are so kind! Thanks a lot! That really made our stay so worthwhile!

thank you very much Jean-Philippe for this change of scenery an hour and a half from the house. The container is well-equipped, clean, perfectly suited for one or two people. The small terrace is a great place to sit at sunset or for a small morning coffee. The place is quiet and the garden well ordered. The air conditioning was much appreciated in these hot times. No regrets! 😁
