Fun and funky artists cottage with oceanfront, and panoramic views of Ladysmith Harbour and Woodley Range Ecological Reserve. I want to call this a lakehouse. They do refer to it as a cottage, but the wood gives it cabin vibes as well. However, the modernity, from the light fixtures to the stainless steel dishwasher affords this place a hybrid label, unlike any other. This is no tiny house. Do you like the word 'sprawling'? Well, walk through entrance way/foyer, the open kitchen to living room to octagonal sloping ceiling above the fireplace area to dining room area... swing your arms around like Molly Shannon on Seinfeld! Windows upon windows with bench seating sills (what do you call those? quaint! charming!) Gaze at the private dock on the lake, from the kitchen sink window! It is just past the patio sporting the bbq grill and patio furniture. Or look over here at the chickens with fresh eggs you're allowed to collect and eat! At every turn, a gazebo or stonework to enjoy. I want to call this a lakehouse, but I'll be more honest and call it a dream.

This is a stunning, restful, get away! Would have liked to stay many days. As a horse person I absolutely loved being around them. Bonus to have a piano to play! Comfortable beds, fully functional kitchen and nice to have additional half bathroom. We sat out on the deck in the evening to enjoy the night sky. Attentive hosts. Highly recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Matt’s place has a stunning view! The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped. The living room and kitchen both had a view of the water. The deck had patio furniture that was very comfortable. I sat out both mornings, drank my coffee and read my book. It was beautiful! All three bedrooms were upstairs. One thing to note is that there is a lot of stairs and there are people living below. It was easy to find. They have specific parking for two cars for their guests.

Fantastic place and wonderful hosts! So grateful to call Kerwood’s suite my home-away-from-home for 8 days. Impeccably clean and neat. Kitchen had everything needed to cook dinner. Quiet neighborhood. An absolute gem — as is Kerwood! Great communication before and during my stay. Appreciated the fresh coffee beans, snacks, and welcome note. :) I would definitely stay again.
