Highfield cottage is a stone-built house on a hill at Hillhouse Farm Escapes in the Scottish Borders. This old shepherd's house is renovated to a modern & cosy standard. It has a superb kitchen with range cooker and large dining table, a huge lounge and two generous bedrooms (one is en-suite). Best of all is the stunning rural location with incredible views. It's an easy one-mile walk to a pub. Dog friendly. The house next door, a Little House on the Hill (Herniecleugh), is also available.

What a wonderful place to stay, even though it was just for one night. Definately the nicest place we stayed in 2 weeks cycling/travelling from Lands End to John O'Groats. A really lovely and spacious living area with a comfortable bed and with everything you could you could possibly need. Nice breakfast with wonderful homemade bread. Everything was perfect and would happily stay again. Highly recommended !

This place is a true gem, a country house in the old style, lived-in but immaculately maintained, set in idyllic peaceful grounds with a (swimmable) river running through them — trout rising, rhododendrons and ducks and hens and even a heron... All that was needed for perfection was the perfect hostess, and Fiona delivered on that score, with a warm welcome, pots of tea and coffee at key moments, delicious home-made breakfast and general willingness to help with everything I needed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This castle style tower was the single coolest experience. The castle itself is like nothing else. Then the surrounding area is bonkers. The river, the walk, everything. The icing on the cake was being able to get on the tower’s roof. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. This place is jaw dropping cool.

Glenternie house is a beautiful home rich in history. The interior decorations have been kept true to the period the house was built. Although it does not qualify as a manor house, due to comparatively smaller land area, it has the look and feel of a manor house, with all the tradition that comes with it. The house was easy to find using online map applications. Plenty of parking. The location is out in the country of the Scottish Borders and is one of the quietest, most peaceful places I have ever stayed in. Plenty of room to get out and stretch your legs, and a beautiful garden to wander around in. We agreed to the in house dinner offered by Lucy. The food was amazing, far better than we had in most restaurants. Lucy was very attentive and answered the myriad of questions we had as newcomers to the UK, and Scottish Borders. The bed was very large and comfortable, with an ensuite tub and bathroom and beautiful decor. Definitely would stay again.

I can fully recommend Steve's accommodation. The communication was extremely friendly and helpful and Steve was very accommodating. The room is very nice and in a green and quiet environment, and the city center can be reached very quickly.

Excellent stay in Innerleithen. Was there for the weekend for the mtb trails - Innerleithen, Golfie and Glentress. Lois was very friendly and helpful with recommendations of places to eat etc. Her house is immaculately clean and well presented. I felt right at home, had space in the fridge and cupboards for breakfast / lunch etc. Mostly importantly plenty of room in a secure garage and a socket to charge my emtb. Lois even provided a space for cleaning bikes along with a sturdy bracket / mount on the fence for bike repairs. Very relaxed stay, couldn't have asked for better - highly recommended 👌
