This is not suburbia. Are you looking for a place to get away? Do want to be amazed by starry skies? Can you imagine waking up in the morning and opening the curtains to a stunning mountain vista. If you are getting tired of the bombardment of noise in the city, you will be astonished at the silence we offer.
“Wow! This place has quite a view. On a clear day, when you step outside the cottage, you can see for ages! If you want some peace and quiet, and a place not to far from Wanaka, this is a great spot. The cottage had enough space for our little two year old to run around in and we were able to set up her portacot in the second room, which was great. Also, it was so nice having a fire to keep ourselves warm in the chilly evenings. Jenelle and Craig are lovely & accomodating hosts. We highly recommend!”
An historic mud brick cottage including; a large studio room with queen bed (extra bed available), comfortable vintage lounge/dining, kitchenette, and a separate ensuite.
“Lorna and David were fantastic hosts and gave us great recommendations for places to go. Recommend you come with whatever food and drinks you need, it is quite a drive to the nearest shops (as Lorna and David do point out in the description). To be clear though this in no way detracted from our stay and we had a very relaxing weekend looking out at amazing views. We 100% recommend them. Thanks again!”
A beautiful fully self contained 2 bedroom holiday home in the charming historic village of St Bathans, Central Otago. Built using the traditional method of mud brick with 2 bedrooms (double beds) and a sofa in the lounge that converts to a double bed. A warm and cosy little home with all modern amenities. Ideal for Rail trail riders, families, or a quiet romantic get away from the maddening crowds.
“We loved relaxing at the Old Orchard Cottage with the fireplace roaring! Especially after a day out exploring the old town, walking around Blue Lake or venturing further afield to the other charming towns of Maniatoto. Great to read about the history of St Bathans. Really appreciated the fast wifi.”
