Cwt Blawd - Country Cottage.

There will always be a friendly welcome at Cwt Blawd, a cosy and stylish retreat on the hillside, overlooking the Clwydian Range. The historic market town of Ruthin is a mile away and holds a wealth of history with it's castle, and beautiful buildings. Ruthin has numerous restaurants, pubs and take-aways (which includes deliveries). North Wales attractions are accessible by car with Snowdon and Zip World only 1 hr drive away. Walks and cycle paths are plentiful in the surrounding area.

The Studio

The Studio is in the centre of one of Wales' most scenic villages at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains. It is a self-contained studio with a double bed or 2 singles, dining/sitting areas, kitchen and shower room. The Hand Hotel serves great food, best to book. Well placed for a long weekend of walking, cycling or visiting the Pontcysyllte World Heritage site, Llangollen with its heritage railway, Lake Vernwy, waterfalls and many more wonderful places. An excellent base for exploring North Wales.

Dating from 1762, this beautiful stone cottage is full of period features, beamed ceilings and a huge inglenook fireplace. Lovely rural hillside location in a courtyard setting, 2 miles from the main road along a country lane, but only 9 miles from Ruthin. Enjoy the lovely private garden, watch the birds or stargaze at night whilst sharing a bottle of wine in the 'Piggery'. Perfectly placed for all that North Wales has to offer. Awen has a fantastic place...very clean and offers all the facilities you would expect and more. Awen is a good communicator and responds quickly. I would recommend the accommodation to anyone looking for great place in a great location..close to Ruthin a town that offers many facilities and packed with history.

We had a lovely stay here, Tania and Jonathan (and Mya the dog!) were lovely and helpful. Home was just as described, if not better! Would definitely recommend as an escape from a busy town! The turn onto the lane was a bit tricky to navigate and the wifi wasn’t great but the rest absolutely made up for it. A gorgeous few days! ☺️

What a lovely place. Not far from the main roads, but you feel completely cut off from the pressures of life. Peaceful! Having the living area upstairs gives you spectacular views across the vale and up on to the Clwydian range. We were busy here there and everywhere this weekend (paddle boarding in Snowdonia, the skate park in Denbigh and walking the castle walls), but next time we plan to make full use of the garden. Thanks Nerys.

Beautiful cottage in a tranquil setting, ideal for families or couples looking for a country getaway . The cottage is conveniently accessible to main roads that run to local attractions in north wales despite its more remote location & country walks to take in the scenery on the doorstep. Cottage exactly as described & pictured, very clean , well equipped & the pool table adds a nice featured for entertaining. Paul was very responsive to our needs & questions. Would highly recommend and hope to stay again in the future.

Paul’s place was a very pleasant stay for the 6 of us and our 2 children. The property was clean and as described with all amenities available. Paul was also able to accommodate us on a last minute request regarding a baby cot. Would definitely recommend Paul’s property for large family or a group of 6 people, or even for couples who want to enjoy the place and be close to the nature of Wales.

Thank you Claire and Rob for such a lovely weekend, the red shed was exactly what we needed! Relaxed and peaceful, really comfortable with absolutely everything provided at the property so we could cook and feel at home. Claire and Rob made as up a fire in the burner for our arrival after 8pm - the red shed is extremely cosy and well insulated - and were kindly flexible on check out too. Only problem was we just didn't want to leave! We would really love to stay for longer next time - so worth the long drive from Bristol! The beautiful valley views and woodland full of birdsong and signs of spring, we would highly recommend the red shed for peace and comfort in the heart of nature.
