Wow! What a fantastic place! I’ve stayed in many places in Gambia, but this one is special! They’ve just “got it right” at this place. The people can’t do enough for you. Karl was fantastic and made sure we were well looked after. The wooden house is well built and has good running water (even if it is sea water) the pressure is great for an eco lodge. Electricity was stable and no cuts. The views from the wooden house really make this place special! It’s peaceful, set in nature with a fantastic beach! Food is also good, compliments to the chef! I just can’t recommend this place enough! Well done Iain and the team at About Time! You’re doing a great job and I will definitely be back!! ❤️

I thoroughly enjoyed staying in Awa's family compound. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. The market was in walking distance to buy food to cook. This spacious and beautifully decorated apartment had all of the essentials for our weeklong stay, plus nice touches such as plenty of mirrors. Also super easy getting transportation from the main road. Will definitely stay again!

Those who want to vacation on a farm are very well taken care of here. The manager and his staff are very helpful and proud to show you the modern agricultural technology. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the tourist zone, you can relax there.

This was a wonderful stay. The room was amazing. The doors opened up onto the beach so you really hear the ocean and see it from your bed. Lots of space in the room and lovely hot shower. Kembas the hosy was exeptional. He went above and beyond his duties. He organised all my trips and escorted me, along with his lovely taxi driver Osman. His team are spectacular. Always making sure you are ok. They even built me a camp fire in the evening which was lovely. It is a bit breezy in the evning being so close to the coast so bring something warm with you. I felt totally safe and cared for as a solo traveller. These guys are really lovely. Kembas has such a good heart and he is so funny and entertaing too. You will love it.

Alleou has done everything to make us feel. The breakfast was sufficient. They would have cooked for us too. But we went to the beach in a small bar and there the crevettes and the salad were incredible so we went back the next night. The facility is very clean and there are plenty of birds to watch. A paradise kept simple for nature lovers. Wonderful.

I chose this apartment primarily for its location and security. It was exactly as I’d hoped. Beautiful views of the beach which was also easy to access. Unfortunately the sea was too rough for swimming but great for a bit of fun jumping the waves. Short taxi drive to Senegambia where you’ll find loads of bars and restaurants with varied menus to suit all tastes. Taxis are easy to access and very reasonably priced. Small supermarket a few minutes walk from the apartment. I felt very safe at this apartment. Very friendly security staff 24 hours a day. Bakary was also very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was well kept and equipped with sun beds. The apartment was spacious with all 3 bedrooms with a good en suite. Well equipped kitchen. It was not a problem to us but be aware the apartment is on the third floor with no lift. It does add to the fantastic beach view of course.

We spent a wonderful time with Alfa those few days. The place was really clean and nothing was missing. We did a wonderful trip in the mangroves with the pirogue with Alfa who took his time to explain everything with care. I will also add that we had a wonderful typical Senegalese lunch with him and his wonderful family. This place is definitely worth the money, if you want to dive in the Senegalese culture, it’s the place to go!

However, this is Africa and it's important to to understand that some things work "differently !" Great for the. adventurous traveller looking to find the 'real ' Gambia'.
