Family-friendly holiday rentals in Bay Islands Department

Life’s a Beach is a great house! We’ve stayed there on two different occasions. It’s a great location and has a lovely deck right on the beach. The rooftop deck is beautiful for sunsets and we love having the outdoor shower as well.

Our stay at Casa Caribe was great! The view is absolutely breathtaking. 180°+ view of the ocean. It is truly indescribable. the grounds are beautifully done and well-tended with tons of tropical plants and flowers. It was super easy to kayak out to the mangroves and to the reef for snorkeling which was a wonderful experience! The hospitality is top notch too. Chris was super communicative and gave wonderful suggestions for places to visit. He even made reservations for us to make it easier. Banuel is the caretaker and he is so wonderful. He is there for absolutely anything you need at all and he is truly happy to serve guests. He also has great knowledge of the island and tells great stories! They truly take all the stress out of the vacation by having everything you could want or need. And they are willing to get for you anything they may not have. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It was beautiful, restful, relaxing, and fun! If you are going to Roatan, this is the place to stay!

We couldn't ask for a better spot! A day before our trip it was impossible for us to find a place to stay that was comfortable and central, and when we came up with this condo, we didn't think twice - and we didn't make a mistake! Fatima and Tirza responded to all our concerns, and hosted us on short notice with great warmth. Tirza transported us from the airport / ferry to the condo and gave us some good tips on the island! The place is very comfortable, spacious, clean and above all is in one of the best areas of Roatan. Oscar, who manages the property during the day, was key to meeting all our needs. We are counting the days to return to the paradise island of Honduras, Roatan and to stay in this place again!

Amazing hosts and amazing apartment! Super clean and a beautiful apartment with amazing views. Just a 3 minute walk from the beach and in a very safe location. Loved the apartment and the service.

We had a wonderful time at Turtle Casa, it was exactly what we were looking for, not separate hotel rooms but an environment where we could be with family and enjoy some private time as well. Our whole family really enjoyed the stay. The house really is beautiful. Very happy with the amazing hospitality provided by Marnie and her crew. Will definitely pass down the information to family and friends.

Jennifer and Tommy were amazing host, arranged pick up at airport, greeted us when we arrived and provided numerous helpful suggestions. Loved sitting on the porch drinking our morning coffee watching macaws and hummingbirds forage in nearby trees. Snorkeled every morning at turtle bay saw many species of fish, rays, lobsters. Loved taking the water taxi to West bay and West end. Highly recommend the fire show at Bannarama on Sunday it was amazing. So many great restaurants to choose from. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Thank you again Jennifer and Tommy, looking forward to returning again someday.

This is a great place to stay. The big beautiful house , very nice fully equipped kitchen with everything you might need for cooking , big dining tables (indoor and outdoor) , convenient kitchen island, big outdoor grill . Rooms with baths nice and clean. Tropical garden with fruits ans flowers, beautiful swimming pool,sun-loungers,hammock. Outdoor area was nicely landscaped and daily maintained. The Watchmen or better to say security guard watch the property from the dusk till the dawn. The host was very nice and helpful if you need any help or something special ( like our friends wanted to have ceramic instead of Teflon coated pan – they got it a brand new instantly !) There is a special bonus for Ham Radio enthusiast – The fully equipped Ham Radio shack of HQ9X.Two Icom radios with two Alpha 99 amplifiers ,rotary tribander beam 10m-15m-20m and Verticals for 40m, 80m and 160m provides endless pileups 24/7.

We had a wonderful stay at the Calabash Reef House! You can see the ocean through the swaying palm trees and hear the waves. The reef just off the shared dock is beautiful. The neighbors are super friendly and helpful. A few things to know: You must have a 4x4 or AWD to get to the house (or a motorbike). There are several very steep hills once you leave the main road. If you have a pet hair allergy this is not a good place to stay - there is a lot of cat hair in every nook and cranny. The water can be rather tricky if you are there in the dry season. You will need to be very frugal and keep a close eye on tank levels. In order to fill the tanks you will need to turn the pump on and off twice a week at set times - and they don't always get full. This little neighborhood is very isolated. It is at least a 20-minute drive to a restaurant and there are not many restaurants on the east end. If you want nightlife stay on the west end. Personally, we like the quiet of the east end.

Amazing host, she was there when we needed her. Very responsive. Great views and was very spacious. Although the beach is public.. we felt safe in the area, and only saw the neighbors walking the beach. Ready supplies were available (towels, kitchen dishes/ cookware). We felt at home and I would recommend a stay here!

Our family enjoyed staying at this beautiful home. The kitchen is well supplied, including a good outdoor grill, which gave us lots of room to cook together. We enjoyed the pool as it book ended our days out at the beach. We enjoy a good walk which is needed to get to the beach. And going through kimpton hotel shortens the walk and gets you to the beach spot that leads you to great snorkelling. we also enjoyed drinks and snacks at the hotel’s restaurant sea cat while aT the beach. We gathered together in the large living room and the beautiful deck while also enjoying the privacy of our own bedrooms. Thanks for a great vacation

This is a very nice house in a beautiful neighborhood steps away from our dock on the beach. The property it and other houses sit on is very well maintained and is a picturesque tropical type setting in a lush paradise. Fenced and very secure with a watchman roaming the grounds at night and a gardener / handyman on site during the day ready and willing to assist with any needs. Miriam our on site host was amazing and responded quickly with the few requests that we had. Everything was in order and as advertised. This is not a criticism since I was aware of and expected it, but this is in a local neighborhood with a mixture of tourist houses and locals. The area has all of the noises and activity associated with such a setting. Dogs barking, kids playing, people and traffic passing by on the road out front. Again not a bad thing or a critique of any kind! It simply is what it is and was expected. For us the location is perfect! Easy to get to from the airport, close to West End.

The best review I can give is that I would definitely stay here again (and hope to!). The Anchor Inn "compound" is like a small collection of casitas with a private pool and friendly folks all around, but also quiet and private - a welcome reprieve from the business and noise of the main drag in Utila. It is a 10-15 minute walk to town and other popular spots/dive shops so be aware that you may want to rent wheels of some kind if you're staying here and not a big walker. The pool was clean and refreshing and Kandi, the manager, made my stay a pleasure. Plus the Circle K is just nearby for quick errands. Highly recommend!

TRIP OF A LIFETIME! WOW! Just WOW! What can I say about Fort Morgan Cay, Islas de las Bahía and Mark & Julie that has not already been said? The island is breathtaking! Exactly like the photos but better! The staff is A+! The food was fresh & delicious! Mark was our host as Julie was sick during our stay in Feb 2024 and I feel like we made a lifetime friend even though we will probably never see him again, lol. His service did not skip a beat. He was extremely communicative prior to and during the trip. We always knew what to expect and were well informed. We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday here and I paid for almost ALL of the extras...sand sculpture, fire dancers, fireworks, snorkeling at Pigeon Cay, tour of local villages and mangroves, day tour of Roatan...Trust me it's worth it! We found Sarah's place to be the lovely quiet tropical get away we were looking for. It was very roomy. A real treat was the community pool in the back yard that us and the neighbor had almost exclusive use of. The pool and properties are well cared for. There was 24/7 security at the street entrance and patrolling the neighborhood. We ate most of our meals in after stocking up at Eldons and enjoyed occasional outings. Relaxing, swimming and snorkeling were our main goals. The property is on a hill and returning from the pier was a bit challenging for two 70+ yo. We often stopped at the cafe after a few hours snorkeling for refreshments or a meal before the short climb. We saw a big variety of tropical fish including Eagle Rays, eels, tangs and Lion Fish. Also large schools of Grunts and Sargeant Majors and a few sea stars. We have been to Roatan many times and loved this quiet retreat. But if you like to explore a car would be necessary or grab a cab or collectivo.

We enjoyed our stay here and found Sandy Bay to be the perfect location for us. We rented a car and explored a lot of the island and didn’t spend a ton of time at the home except to cook breakfast and in the evenings. The location of the house is the real highlight. The private dock makes accessing spooky channel easier. We appreciated the communication by the hosts and their local recommendations.

I visited with my 6-year-old son and a couple of friends, and we had an amazing experience from start to finish. The house was exactly as shown in the photos—beautiful, clean, and full of charm. Luis was an outstanding host—super helpful and welcoming. He gave us fantastic recommendations for local places to eat, which made our trip even more enjoyable. This place felt like a true home away from home. We’re already looking forward to coming back again soon!

Bella Luna offered a fantastic location to snorkel right off of the beach and have many local restaurants within close proximity of the property. Unfortunately during our stay, the two restaurants on either side of the property were temporarily closed, there were man delicious places to eat within a very short walk. The unit itself had everything we needed for our stay. Full kitchen and amenities as well as beach/pool towels. I love that they use a local soap artisan for their guest soaps in all of their properties! Marvin is the caretaker and is very prompt in the morning to clean up the landscape, rake the beach area, and make sure everything is clean for the day. We have stayed at several Roatan Life properties and their staff is always top-notch and offer incredible service. Would highly recommend staying at a Roatan Life property in the future.

Perfect location for an out of the busyness of life retreat. Excellent access to our favorite dive shop at Marble Hill. Truly gracious, helpful, and caring hosts. And Daisy is an awesome dog! Will be happy to return, but will get a 4x4 to be ready for rain and muddy roads. Hosts provided both car and boat rides to take care of of our needs.

Stephanie was very accommodating! The pictures do not do the plave justice, it was absolutely beautiful. We loved the setting as we were near the middle of the island so we could easily get to either end within a reasonable time. The lack of crowds, especially on cruise ship days, was wonderful.

Beautiful home, close to the beach but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. The pool was literally private and just a few steps away.
