Cottage holiday rentals in Barry Island

If you're considering booking this property, then do it! We have had the best week staying here and I cannot rate it highly enough. The host was great at communicating before the trip and whilst we were there. Whenever we had a question, nothing was too much trouble. She contacted us to let us know we could check in a little bit earlier as the property was ready, and this was much appreciated. One of the biggest things we look for in an airbnb is cleanliness, and I have to say, the property was spotless. The kitchen had all the amenities you could want, and the house had lovely little touches for our toddler; toys, highchair, stair gate and bed guard. Whilst the weather wasn't great, there was a lovely sized garden, and our toddler was able to visit the horses behind the garden and feed them carrots. Everything was a very short drive away, and location was great. We enjoyed a dinner in the pub garden of the Ancient Briton. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!

I’ve booked it for the weekend for a birthday surprise for my partner and balloons and a banner was put in the room for when we get there. The place was lovely, peaceful and beautiful. Looking forward for booking it again very soon! Highly recommended x Ily

Our stay was lovely, the house was beautifully renovated and honestly couldn't fault it! The hot tub was a highlight in the evenings after a long few days exploring and really helped us to relax! Comfy beds, and lots of storage space with big wardrobes..only thing I would say is the sun does stream through the windows (which is lovely, just means early starts) as soon as it gets light out, blackout blinds or curtains in the bedrooms would maybe be useful in the summer months if you aren't looking to be up so early but that was the only thing I could add!

We’ve just returned from the most delightful short break in a beautiful college cottage tucked away in the heart of Wales. The cottage itself was a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort — tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean, and full of character. Surrounded by rolling hills and the peaceful sounds of nature, it felt like a true escape from the everyday. This little haven gave us the peace and quiet we craved, along with the warmth and welcome of a truly special place. We left feeling rested, inspired, and already dreaming of our return xx

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the house was very clean and tidy and Clare went above and beyond with complimentary cake and fizz on arrival. Clare was very responsive when we had questions about the area. The house felt like a home, and it was great to be able to make the most of the spa pool after a day out. We would definitely book again.

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful cottage. Well presented with well thought out amenities left for us. Plenty of space for the three of us and the hot tub was a delightful treat after we had explored for 11k. Dinner at butterflies was stunning, for three people who talk a lot, we were eating in silence because we were so happy 🥰 Will happily recommend to friends and family visiting the area. We have just arrived home from our beautiful stay at beili glas cottage. An absolutely stunning location and service, peter and lydia communicated extremely well and even got a slightly earlier check in. Very peaceful and couldn't have asked for more. Looking forward to our next stay.

We had a great time - the house was lovely and surpassed our expectations and everything you needed was there - location was excellent and an easy walk to shops and restaurants (a real bonus if the weather isn’t so good) and the private parking space meant we could park up and walk wherever we wanted to go - a very enjoyable few days in a real home from home and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Cute townhouse near the Brecons, with lots of hiking nearby. Great place for a few friends or a family to base themselves near lots of beautiful hikes.

Great cottage, clean and tidy. Hosts very informative. Three lovely pubs in walking distance also nice and friendly. Walks to lots of waterfalls all nearby.

Beds comfy which was much needed. Shop is literally 1 minute fro the apartment so very handy. Quiet little town. If you’re going to the pub get one of you to drive as it’s a steep hill.

Kathy’s cottage in Crickhowell is fantastic – beautifully decorated, spotless, and extremely well equipped. Everything was clean and tidy, and we felt relaxed as soon as we walked through the door. The location is perfect: peaceful and quiet, yet within easy walking distance of all the lovely shops, restaurants and pubs in Crickhowell – easily nicest town in South Wales! Kathy was a brilliant host, with clear, timely communication and a warm, welcoming approach. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.

The house sits snugly up by our hosts' house, surrounded by well maintained rockery banks and with a view of the busy bird feeder and stables. The plot is very well maintained while not overly manicured and unlesss a car passes along the lane there is no traffic sound to interrupt the peace. The house has everything you need for a short stay; the beds are very comfortable, kitchen spacious and sufficiently well equipped for cooking. Wifi may drop out in the sitting room but this didn't bother us. There is one family bathroom which may trouble some people but we were four adults and managed perfectly well for showers etc There is also another separate loo. Not a modern minimalist style property, more homely and immaculately clean and fresh decoration. The location is stunning and very convenient for coast and moor. Perfect for us.

What a beautiful home! We spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it! The home was very well decorated and had everything we needed! The bed is huge!! The surroundings are just idyllic and there are lots of lovely walks to explore. The local pub is fabulous and we had a great meal there. We will definitely be returning in the future!

lovely cottage exactly what we'd hoped for perfect for me and my daughter and it was as we expected immaculately clean and well maintained, small but nice outside area and the added bonus of the lovely shop next door i had a great pasty and bottle of wine from the shop. staff were friendly we would highly recommend Peacock Cottage.

What a fantastic stay. Beautiful property with a comfy bed and sofa bed and a little nook for the kids to sleep in. The house was very clean and had everything you would need. Amazing area, close to the beach and coastal path and we went for lovely walks with beautiful views. Hot tub was fab, we could watch the sunset from it. Sam was very helpful and responsive. Gorgeous cottage in beautifully peaceful surroundings and walking routes from the doorstep. We loved staying here despite rain and the beautifully kept private gardens that guests can access on Thursdays are just lovely to walk around with birdsong all around you. We enjoyed the guest gardens with views to the distant Brecon hills when we had a quiet moment. Very easy to find and Alastair provides excellent additional information on restaurants, walks and local amenities. You are only 30 mins from Hay on Wye and other lovely places.

This is such a beautiful cottage and a super host! We visited for my mums 70th birthday weekend which had a focus on our Gavin and Stacey tour in Barry. We wanted a country setting for a peaceful and relaxing stay away from the hustle and this was perfect. Cozy, extremely comfortable and clean. Great amenities and a lovely welcome hamper which was thoroughly enjoyed. A short drive away from the lovely town of Cowbridge, which we hadn’t known about until our arrival. Sweet little cottage but lacking nothing! Immaculately clean and a very comfy bed. Very much appreciated the crumpets, butter and jam near a modern toaster, all ready for our arrival! Communication and getting in via the lockbox was straightforward. We had a lovely weekend here, thanks xxx
