“I booked a weekend at Mickey's as 'one last English weekend getaway' before I return home to Australia after 5 years of living in the UK. I've stayed in alot of Airbnb+'s across England, all fantastic, but I truly felt on Cloud 9 at Mickey's. Arundel high street is probably the cutest English village I've come across, and the interior design at Mickey's was too cool!”
"The Hideaway" is situated in Houghton, very close to the point at which the South Downs Way crosses the River Arun. The oak framed garden room offers studio style open plan living space with double bed, well equipped kitchenette & separate bathroom. The doors open onto a garden area to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining or simply just to soak up the sun & offer beautiful panoramic views of the South Downs. Houghton is also a mid-way point on the South Downs Way making it the perfect stop over
“The hideaway is the perfect getaway spot if you’re looking for a quiet few days away. Anna is an exceptional host, super helpful, thinks of everything you could need whilst still respecting privacy. The hideaway is kitted out to such a high standard. There are great walks through the fields right out the back gate to local pubs and villages. We took our young puppy and Anna and her family were super kind and understanding of him, he loved playing with their family dog too. We drove to two different beaches, one 20 mins away and one 30 mins away. Arundel as a town is so nice. In short, there is lots to do if you want to get in the car and go places. I couldn’t recommend Anna and the Hideaway more and we’ll hopefully be back!”
A quiet two-bedroomed bungalow overlooking extensive water meadows that the cows freely roam. Alongside the driveway is a small brook with hedgerows where kingfishers, moorhens, reed warblers and cuckoos can be found. Murmurations of starlings swoop overhead at dusk. A short distance from the historic town centre of Arundel that boasts a castle, cathedral, antique shops and tea rooms. Close by to the beach, river walks, Goodwood, Chichester, Roman villas and beautiful Sussex countryside.
“A lovely lovely home, with thoughtful extra homely touches. Easy to find and check in was a breeze. Child-friendly (we have two under 5) and lovely and clean. There were games in a cupboard and Netflix on the tv, and in the summer the garden and BBQ area would be heaven! Even in the Winter it was gorgeous and we watched the sunrise whilst sipping warm cocoa. The host was friendly, responsive and so helpful and gave us great local tips. The location is fantastic, quiet and relaxing but near enough to amenities and fun places to visit. We were well looked after!”
