Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Arco da Calheta

This chalet is absolutely beautiful! It was exactly as pictured - if not more lovely in person. It was peaceful, clean, and so cozy! We enjoyed making a fire in the fire place when it was cold and rainy. Ana was so responsive and let us check in early and was helpful giving directions and gave great recommendations for places to eat. Hot shower, comfortable bed, washing machine, full kitchen - everything you need! There are, however, some pros and cons with the location to consider. This is a remote property in a small village - which is what makes it so pretty, unique and peaceful. It’s also off the main road on the way toward Pico de Areiro which is great if you’re spending time in this location hiking, canyoning, etc. However, keep in mind it’s very remote. I really did not like driving back there late at night and was a little uneasy sleeping there at night because it felt so remote - but if that doesn’t bother you, I couldn’t recommend this place enough! We would stay again!

We absolutely loved being right on the ocean! It was within feet of the house!- with the waves crashing and the patio where we ate all our meals, provided an excellent ambiance for our trip. We stayed 6 nights and were so glad we didn’t move around to other places. The promenade next to the house is very scenic and offered a one mile round trip walk along the ocean . Watching the surfers was also a plus.

Our stay at Casa Nobrega was simply magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed — the thoughtful gift waiting for us was such a lovely surprise and really set the tone for the rest of our stay. Our hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, available whenever we had a question but also respectful of our space. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. What stood out most was the absolute peace and quiet — just birdsong and ocean breezes. The rooftop patio was the highlight for us: sipping wine at sunset with panoramic views of the sea and mountains felt like something out of a dream. The photos don’t do it justice. This is a rare kind of place — beautifully maintained, filled with charm, and surrounded by nature. If you’re looking for serenity, comfort, and a truly special stay in Madeira, Casa Nobrega is it. We’re already dreaming about coming back!

Pedro is the best thing about this place the man is a legend really kind and helpful goes over and beyond. The place is so nice pool is amazing with fantastic views. I can not fault the place. Over three floors we had 12 people in it and didn’t feel cramped. Book this place you will not regret it

This was a delightful place to stay. Very private and so many facilities for a small place. Beautiful views, swimming pool and honesty bar. A total hidden gem.

Schöne Unterkunft mit einer tollen Aussicht über die ganze Bucht. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen, es gab Empfehlungen für Ausflüge und Restaurants, alles Wichtige konnte später noch in einer Mappe nachgelesen werden. Außerdem gab es einen Willkommensgruß aus Wein, Keksen und Eiern aus dem Garten. Die Unterkunft ist sehr ruhig gelegen, ein Mietwagen ist zu empfehlen. Es gibt einen kleinen Parkplatz am Ende der Straße und zum Eingang der Wohnung gibt es eine Treppe. In der Nähe ist ein Supermarkt, dort kann man auch zu Fuß hin. Insgesamt sind alle Straßen in der Umgebung ziemlich steil, daran haben wir uns aber nach wenigen Tagen gewöhnt. Bei der Ankunft war die Wohnung sehr ordentlich. Man muss aber sehr auf Sauberkeit achten, sonst kommen schnell Ameisen, das ist in der Region aber wohl normal. Alle Utensilien zur Reinigung waren vorhanden. Zum Ausspannen nach den Ausflügen ist die Wohnung ideal, besonders mit dem kleinen Garten. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt!

Ce logement atypique sur plusieurs étages est très beau et parfaitement bien aménagé. Nous avons profité des 3 espaces extérieurs. Accueil apprécié avec une belle attention à notre arrivée (fleurs, vin, bière, eau, chocolat). Nous avons également été bien conseillées pour nos sorties et restaurants. A noter : Pas évident pour moi de me garer correctement sur la place de parking mais il est possible de se garer sur un parking en bas de la rue. Nous sommes ravies de notre séjour chez Adriana

Ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt! Christina und Aleixo sind außergewöhnliche Gastgeber. Sie haben uns spontan vom Flughafen abgeholt und auch wieder hingebracht – ein unglaublicher Service! Dank ihrer Hilfe konnten wir unkompliziert und ohne versteckte Kosten einen Roller mieten. Gemeinsam waren wir in lokalen Restaurants essen und haben so die Insel authentisch erlebt. Die Unterkunft war noch schöner als beschrieben – sauber, liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet. Was diesen Urlaub aber wirklich besonders gemacht hat, war ihre herzliche, fast familiäre Art. Sie waren jederzeit erreichbar, hatten tolle Insider-Tipps für Ausflüge und haben sich einfach rührend um uns gekümmert. Wir haben uns nicht wie Gäste, sondern wie Freunde gefühlt. Vielen Dank für diese wundervolle Zeit – wir kommen wieder!

es war ein wirklich sehr schönes großes haus mit einem paradisischem Balkon und einen herrlichen Ausblick über das ganze Dorf auf knappen 300 höhenmeter. Auto muss man ganz klar besitzen,sonst könnte es problematisch sein. kalt wird es tatsächlich nachts und morgens auch, aber dafür gibt es immerhin mobile heizgeräte in der wohnung. Kakerlaken sind uns leider auch beim direkten Bezug aufgefallen, nachdem wir jedoch 5 stück beseitigt hatten, haben wir kein Problem mehr damit gehabt

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable chez Ivone et Garry. L’appartement dispose d’une vue incroyable sur la mer et tout ce dont vous avez besoin. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter pour un prochain séjour à Madère !

This accommodation is a peaceful, secluded gem surrounded by beautiful nature. Though tucked away, it’s still close to major attractions. The view from the kitchen is stunning — perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. Marco was very communicative and responded quickly to any questions. A great spot to relax and recharge! Thank you!

Gostei muito. É preciso ter apenas em atenção o caminho que o Google Maps nos dá mas uma vez conhecendo o caminho certo, nada a apontar!

It was just the way we expected, too bad the jacuzzi needed so much time to warm up that we didnt use it.

We loved our stay here, very comfortable apartment and stunning location. Gary met us on arrival and responded within minutes with any issues. it's lovely and peaceful but it was a nice bonus to have a few local restaurants and small shop in walking distance. Definitely recommended!

We hebben genoten in dit huis. Het huis is zeer ruim en heel schoon. Het uitzicht is heel mooi. De bedden waren verschillend, sommige bedden waren heel zacht en andere bedden harder, wat wij prettiger vonden. We waren met z'n vieren en er waren genoeg bedden om te kiezen. We hebben lekker geslapen. Het zwembad is groot, het is wel wat verouderd, maar de kinderen hebben er heerlijk in gezwommen. de temperatuur was prima, niet ijzig koud, doordat het zwembad wel iets verwarmd is. De overkapping helpt hier goed mee en is makkelijk open en dicht te doen. De tuin is schitterend en goed onderhouden. De keuken is zeer groot en de woonkamer ook met een heerlijke bank. Het was fijn dat er dekentjes bij lagen. Ook fijn dat we handoeken en badhandoeken mochten gebruiken. Het huis ligt hoger en is daardoor kouder dan bij het strand. Een auto is noodzakkelijk. Het rijden is in Madeira wel een uitdaging, vooral sommige straatjes. Twee mooie wandelingen naast het huisje. Kortom top!

Wir haben und in der Unterkunft sehr wohlgefühlt. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Maria empfangen und auch wieder verabschiedet. 🤗 Die Kommunikation mit Mário lief auch super, er war immer erreichbar und hat sich auch während unseres Aufenthalts mehrmals nach uns erkundigt. 👍🏼 Auch die Lage der Wohnung ist top. Man hat einen wunderschönen Ausblick und kann Madeira von dort aus gut erkunden 🤗 Ansonsten war die Wohnung mit allem ausgestattet, was wir benötigt haben. Wie können sie sehr weiterempfehlen. Wenn wir mal wieder aus Madeira sind, wäre das unsere erste Anlaufstelle. 🫶🏼

Ubytovanie zodpovedalo fotkám, ubytujúci bol pristeľský a poskytol nám veľa odporúčaní, po príchode nás čakalo lokálne ovocie a víno ako pozornosť a taktiež zelenina z ich farmy. Odporúčam

Wir hatten wunderbare Tage in der Unterkunft und würden diese jeder Zeit wieder buchen. Es war alles vorhanden was man brauchte und sehr sauber.

Toller Ausblick, Lage oberhalb von Funchal, Anfahrt bestenfalls mit Mietwagen, Whirlpool nach Tageswanderungen sehr zu empfehlen!

Rui’s boende var perfekt för oss som ville slappna av efter långa dagar med vandringar i Madeiras vackra natur. Vi njöt av den fantastiska poolen med en underbar vy, lagade mat i det stora köket eller grillade i grillhuset. Huset ligger avskilt och privat, vilket passade oss perfekt och ville vi gå ut och äta så var det bara några minuter med bil till en restaurang. Extra stort plus var katten som sa godmorgon varje morgon och som väntade på oss när vi kom hem från vandringen! Åker vi till Madeira igen, så kommer vi definitivt boka detta boende igen eller några andra av Rui’s boende! ⭐️

Heerlijk huis. Compleet en veel privacy. Geen voorzieningen op loopafstand. Voor ons geen probleem, maar wel iets om rekening mee te houden. Het huis ligt ook hoog, wat zo een paar graden kan schelen. Als je hier verblijft, vergeet dan niet om te gaan eten in de Sunshine Pub&Grill. Een echte aanrader, zie ook reviews op Google.

Wir durften fünf Tage in der wunderbaren Grey Rock Villa auf Madeira verbringen. Wechselndes Wetter ist mit diesen grossen Fensterfronten ein Schauspiel. Der Pool ist mit 24 Grad perfekt temperiert. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet. Man fühlt sich sofort wie zu Hause. Fabrice und Ana kennen sich gut aus und geben wertvolle Tipps! Vielen Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder.
