The place was very clean and has everything you need. The host welcomed us very warmly with tea. He supported us in our activities and gave great tips. One evening we were too tired to walk into town, so he organized food for us without hesitation. I would book this place again right away and highly recommend it.

I recently had the pleasure of staying in Dawn's place and it was an unforgettable experience. The property I stayed at offered stunning views of the surrounding hills and lush greenery—waking up to the sight of Ella Rock was truly magical. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.

Great stay at Villawonne! Very easy communication with the host and nice and helpful welcome by the housekeepers. The apartment is well-equiped and comfortable. The rooms are indeed quite cool at night even just with fans and without AC. The open setup has a cool vibe, and even when there are mosquitoes, the net over the beds are well-constructed and effective. We would come back!

This was an amazing stay! I wish I stayed longer. The owners Asith and his wife have made a lovely piece of heaven in the mountains. The property and it's surrounding are a dream! The hosts are kind and made us a top notch breakfast. On top of that they are so accommodating and super hard working. There are some considerations when people choose to book, if you're bringing a mini van it's a bit tricky, but the owners make it work! But just keep in mind roads are narrow. They provide their tuk tuk to help as well.

First, the essential comments: the place was Clean, Comfortable and Convenient: The Three Big C's for a good homestay experience ). It looked and functioned as advertised in the listing and photos, and I truly feel as if I got much more than I paid for, due to a crucial factor: I arrived in a limited mobility state, several days before a caretaker friend joined me. I was compromised to a degree both physically and mentally. Wthout the caring, kind and generous attention of the host family to my welfare and well being, they who lived in the same domicile on the floor below, my experience at Chandrakanthan's place would have been very different indeed. Batticoloa is an exceptionally beautiful town with lots to offer visitors of all ilks and inclinations; so, without reservation, I offer Chandrakanath and his wife, Priya, my absolute highest recommendation for a pleasant and rewarding homestay experience in a delightful environment. Mark my words: you will be glad you did.

My stay at this place by the water was simply & good. The natural sounds and the view of the temple create an peaceful atmosphere—perfect for relaxation. My host was fantastic!!!He speaks excellent English, gave me great tips, and even organized a full-day tour for me. He was patient, kind, and always helpful. The accommodation is slightly away from the tourist crowds—exactly what I was looking for. I stayed for two nights and was completely satisfied. The room had everything I needed, including a small balcony.

We travelled with our 3 year old daughter and had an exceptionally nice stay! We recommend it 100%. Stunning views, peaceful surroundings. Fantastic breakfasts served on the beautiful terrace. It’s even better than the pictures! The host family was extremely kind and helpful at all times. The house is located at walking distance to 9 Arch Bridge and about 15 min by tuk tuk/car from central Ella. It’s super easy to find transport and to get around. We will for sure cone back and enjoy this house and Ella! Thank you so much.

Oh I just loved this special place. I slept great and woke up to such a beautiful morning on my balcony. I had a tea while watching nature and taking it all in. The garden is very special and I was able to find such a moment of peace there.

Dawn and the team were extremely friendly, professional and genuinely charming. They were extremely helpful in helping us to the accommodation with our luggage and with suggestions of places to eat. The accommodation was delightful, private and quiet yet open to stunning views. We were offered an additional breakfast each day which was fresh, healthy and served with a smile. It’s the best place we’ve stayed on our trip to Sri Lanka and a highlight of our experience.

Lovely place, just next to Ella city approx 800m away. Near train tracks but it’s not at all disturbing. They were amazing host. They picked us up far away from our location and also helped us in dropping at Colombo International airport. Always recommend others to check on this property as everything is very nearby

Communication was great before & during our stay. Our time here was excellent. Magnificent views, comfortable living. Comfortable beds. Rooftop breakfasts a great way to start the day. Shan & JP were super helpful with recommendations and advice for Ella. Also arranged transport for us to local sites and offered to arrange our transfer to our next destination if we needed.

lovely property overlooking the hills , very clean , you can walk along train track to Ella but we went by tuk tuk, can be organised by your host . Breakfast was really lovely , they also made our dinner one night delicious and if you ask can organise a takeaway from a local restaurant. Really lovely peaceful stay would highly recommend
