Holiday rentals with breakfast in Amarante

I don't know where to start! Our visit to the Douro Valley couldn't have been better! Casa Souto was everything that we thought it would be. Both Mr. João Souto and Ms. Maria de Fatima were the absolute BEST hosts we've ever had. They went above and beyond in every conceivable way! Quinta de Portelada is a heavenly, quiet and well-located place for visiting the Douro region. The apartment is very well equipped, ultra clean and functional with a great view of the vineyards of the area. Unfortunately, we did not meet João because he was traveling but he was really quick to answer all our questions, Sonia who was there to welcome us was exemplary kindness and so accommodating throughout the stay, the lunches are really well stocked (ham,cheese, jam, juice, fresh fruit, breads and fresh croissant of the day) We highly recommend this oasis without any problem.

Nuno’s place exceeded our expectations. It has a beautiful balcony with a view over the Douro river. The pool area is peaceful and breakfast provided was an added bonus. Nuno was very helpful and provided us with great recommendations for wine tasting and spots to visit. The apartment is spacious, clean and has a small kitchen which we were able to use to cook in the evenings.

From the moment we walked in, we knew this place was something special. It has that rare, magical feeling where everything just feels right. The space was stunning—beautifully kept, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly peaceful. But the real showstopper? The views. Absolutely spectacular in every direction. We spent hours just soaking it all in. The pool was perfect—clean, refreshing, and surrounded by scenery that made it feel like our own private paradise. Every moment here felt relaxing and memorable. What really made the stay extra special was Paulo and his wonderful family. They were warm, welcoming, and always available if we had questions. They also gave us amazing local recommendations, especially for restaurants—we had some of our best meals thanks to their tips! This was the most magical Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The space is completely private and very romantic and peaceful, and the views are just breathtaking. The interior decor is stunning and feels very warm and welcoming. You have your own private pool with a view of the valley and two nice pool recliners, and the bed and couch are so soft and comfortable. Also, the outdoor stone bathtub with the special bath pillows was such a relaxing treat! We explored the area around a bit to see some vineyards, but we made dinner at the house every night and enjoyed the amazing breakfast delivered to our door every morning—all that to say, we barely left! This is worth the trip just to visit the Airbnb. I can’t recommend it enough.

This has probably been the been AirBnB I have ever stayed in. The new house built on top of an ancient mill is really special and very welcoming with great attention to detail, the host was extremely welcoming and attentive to our requests and the location of the house allowed both for sightseeing in Guimaraes and Braga, as well as for excursions to the mountains and the sea side. We stayed for a week and the longer we stayed the more we appreciated our living environment in the middle of a flowing river stream.

At first we requested the normal room, but being there with the baby we requested a bigger and much better one. Lovely apartment, super comfortable, with huge bed and all the amenities. Very complete kitchen. Nice design and very clean. The rural environment is very quiet, although no roads to walk or anything to do in the surroundings. Guimaraes 15 min drive. Very clean and nice pool and fantastic restaurant. The very friendly and collaborative staff.

José's estate is beautiful with stunning views of the hills. The accommodation is very comfortable. And the location is great for exploring the local area. José was always very available. Breakfast is included, hearty, and delicious. I would highly recommend this rental.

Staff was wonderful, very helpful and responsive. We had a delightful wine tasting. They set up a taxi to take us to town and told us where to have dinner. The small village was extremely charming, we had a great dinner and our taxi driver was waiting to take us back after. The room and property were top notch. the only minor issue we had and it may be our fault, is we were further away from the Douro Valley than we thought. The directions were correct, but I missed my turn into the property, it isnt much of a road and it sneaks up on you. It would be challenging to find at night. But in the end, we were extremely pleased with our experience and very glad we stayed. We would wholeheartedly recommend it!!

Clean, roomy and comfortable apartment. Great patio. Very good communication. Paula was at the apartment on our arrival to introduce the apartment. A nice port and cookies were provided gratis, which was appreciated. Breakfast provided every morning was tasty and convenient. Highly recommend.

This Baroque-style mansion, which has a chapel dating back to 1618, is a real wonder. This is a family home, keeping its character and charm of yesteryear intact, where everyone can retreat peacefully under the trees or by the pool. Inês and her husband are always available and you will get good advice from them - you can discover in Marco de Canaveses an excellent little restaurant: the "Bodeguita do Bom Retiro" - but they will also let you live your life. Hosts will be able to shop, prepare meals in the kitchen, and feel at home with longtime friends. The house is surrounded by vines and hills. The breakfast with scrambled eggs and fruit is generous, the jams and lemonade are exquisite. From this large residence you can one day visit the Douro Valley and another the city of Guimarães, birthplace of Portugal, both classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site...

We had a great time at Ann and her husband's place. They are lovely hosts, who made us feel very comfortable. The pool is a big plus. It feels like home. Above all, do not change anything and continue to make the guests who are visiting your beautiful home happy. we would have liked to continue the stay. Everything was perfect.

Amazing 400 year old home, has always been in the family. The outside garden and pool are beautiful and peaceful. Small town near by with good quaint restaurants . About one hour from Douro Valley by a beautiful drive through back country roads. Highly recommend it
