Lake view Japanese Room in Unzen Onsen | Wi-Fi

ClémentRating, 5 stars6 days ago
I spent 2 nights at HUB UNZEN and the room was better than expected : spacious, lake view, very clean and comfortable. Mr Takashi is a very friendly and welcoming host, it was very foggy on the evening of my arrival and he was very responsive in helping me find the hotel. Moreover, Mr Takashi speaks perfectly English. The lake offers a remarkable view, and a small hiking trail leading to a little temple borders the lake, very easily accessible from the accommodation, which adds to the various activities available in the area. I highly recommend this address if you plan to visit Unzen.

Umikara , Iseya Ocean Suite

It is located in the Obama Onsen area, and the view of the sea is very beautiful. As you can see in the photos, you can see the beach from inside the accommodation, and the view is huge at sunset. There are 6 rooms throughout the building, so you can stay privately. You can also take a hot spring bath for free at the ryokan, which is a 5-minute drive away.

Bed in Mixed Dorm / ドミトリー | Izumiya Hostel Ogawa

めいゆうりんRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Good news: As a solo traveler, he politely told me about local recommended spots such as hot springs and izakayas. It had cooking utensils, a refrigerator, a microwave, a pot, chopsticks, spoons, and condiments that you can use as if you were at home, and we had a very comfortable stay. Also, on the last day, we got to know each other from abroad and enjoyed sightseeing together, and the area where we accidentally lived was close, so we had a nice chance to go home to Fukuoka together. It was also impressive that it felt like a home away from home. This hostel is especially recommended for solo travelers.Thank you very much. Worried about: There were some things we understood beforehand, so there was no particular problem. To put it bluntly, I was a little troublesome where I put my clothes when I used the bath. The location above didn't reach me.Other than that, I'm very happy.

Thank you for taking the time to speak with me! There was also a sauna, and we thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation! The atmosphere of the room is also great, and I would love to stay again when I travel to Minami Aso!

Log house with a view of the sea

DylanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
For any English speaking travelers coming to Ashikita, this review is for you! The inn けせらせら, or que sera sera, is indeed tucked away in a lovely corner of the coastline about 5 minutes outside of Tsunagi. The surroundings are gorgeous and you can hear the ocean waves outside and even inside the house on the top floor near the windows, as its right on the coast. The floors were clean, the cabin vibes were relaxing, and the hammock on the first floor was a great touch for lounging about. Being Japan and near Summer, however, there were some huntsman spiders. However, though listed as a "shared space" I should mention that there would be no privacy whatsoever if there were multiple guests booked for the same nights. In my opinion, this should be a single reservation based air bnb. The reason why this didn't effect my ratings is because I think it's highly unlikely that more than one guest would be staying here at a time, given the remote nature of the property.

Enjoy Miyazaki shrimp while relaxing at the farmhouse "Onnichiwa". As a base for sightseeing and workcation

Yuko was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful during the stay. She offered to pick me up from the bus stop and also drove me back. It was nice to chat with Yuko during the stay and learn a little about the local area and her life. The location itself is great for a peaceful getaway in a small town. And the place itself was spotless and well-equipped -- it even had an external monitor, which I was surprised by and found useful! The local townsfolk at the nearby cafes were interesting to chat too, so if you can speak some Japanese, then you'll also like that.
