Quick trip to Saxapahaw for great food at the General Store, The Eddy or Left Bank Butchery; beer at Haw River Ales; coffee at Cup 22; music at the Haw River Ballroom; kayak on the Haw River.

The Yurt at Frog Pond Farm

Our yurt (30' dia.) is rustic, beautiful, quiet, in deep woods with deck overlooking pond. Great for couples, small families (not childproof). Includes hot tub & Poetry Walk. Beds are futons. It's warm June-Aug. (no A/C, plenty fans), but way cooler than the city. It's cold Nov.-March (wood stove heat). Mini-fridge & microwave (no kitchen/plumbing). Parking and the bath-house are 2-min. walks (toilet, sink, shower). Two minutes to Saxapahaw. Read description for more info. NO PARTIES. No dogs.

We all live in a yellow submarine. Experience a unique stay in an enclosed lifeboat converted to a yellow submarine. This lifeboat hung on the US Joshua Humpreys and saw action in the Gulf War. It holds a double bed, plenty of seating, a coffee clutch and outside deck with a Blackston Grill, sink and refrigerator. The bathroom with tiled shower is within 100 ft from the sub. All linens are provided. Pets are allowed upon prior approval.

32 beautiful acres near Saxapahaw. Home to two creeks and watched over by generations-old, native, deciduous trees. Enjoy grand vistas and open pasture, or find a secret and special spot for yourself in the woods along the creek. There is an active community of people who come around to tend to the land.
