Clean cabin, overall area is well-kept. The buildings are a bit older but accurately described. Max was very responsive and friendly when we met. Caught nice-sized sunnies right off the dock. The basic amenities provided were enough for the space. DVDs, games, and books provided in a separate shack. Lovely area and lake.

Stayed at Max‘s place for the second time this year and was very happy with the cabin, had a lovely view of the lake. Enjoyed canoeing and swimming. A beautiful spring that runs through the property into the lake, making such a lovely soothing sound. Max and his team have a great place, family friendly, and I highly recommend a stay.

We loved our stay! Our little autumn weekend on Lake Augusta was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. The cabin was adorable and has everything we needed. The only thing that future travelers should know is that it only locks from the inside with a hook & eye lock, which was not terribly secure but felt safe enough given the location, and that the curtains within the cabin do not provide very much privacy from the guests in other cabins. Otherwise, we would highly recommend. Especially loved that our dogs were able to come with us.

5 Stars – A Perfect Getaway! Loondocks Lake House was everything we hoped for and more! The home is exactly as pictured—clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. The setting is peaceful and perfect for a relaxing escape. The host was incredibly welcoming and made everything easy from start to finish. If you’re looking to make lifetime memories with family or friends, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!

Chris’ place was just as described. Beautiful views, clean, and sharp kitchen knives were a lovely bonus! Like some others have said I would prefer blinds or curtains in the front living room for a bit of added privacy.

This was our 5th year of staying at Castaway in the spring. Love the area and the quiet peaceful lake. There are lots of golf courses and antique shops. There are plenty of local restaurants within a few miles. Vicky and John are very quick to respond for any needs or questions. It is a rare thing these days to receive the customer service and experience they give.

We enjoyed our stay at Karen’s Kottage. Our family enjoyed using the paddle boat and paddle board. Fishing off the dock was also fun. The shore is nice and sandy for swimming but there are quite a few weeds if you want to swim farther out. There was plenty of bedding and towels inside, but the oven is on the smaller side. Just keep in mind if you’re planning on cooking larger meals inside. The gas and charcoal grill worked great for cooking outside. We also enjoyed the fire pit and having fire wood on hand was helpful. The neighbor was also friendly when his dog wandered over.

The cabin was in a great location, just outside of the Twin Cities. All necessary kitchen items were provided and the cabin has a dock and campfire ring that we enjoyed greatly. There are lots of small fish off the dock and our daughter had a great time catching them with her little fishing rod. The neighbors were very friendly and the lake wasn't overly busy. The boat launch is a ten minute drive. If bringing a boat or a larger group with multiple vehicles, be aware there is space to park two vehicles so plan ahead or communicate with the host to see if you're able to use the parking across the way. They were great to volunteer it for us, but not sure if it's always available. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again! The cabin has been completely renovated and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. Thank you for a great weekend!

We came back for our 4th maybe 5th stay and we were reminded yet again about how much we love this cabin! The views are amazing and the cabin is neat and clean. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Lori’s place is great. Lots of living space inside for family activities and meals. The three bedrooms were just right for 4 adults and 3 small children. The lake is beautiful with clear water and is big enough and deep enough for all water sports. The highlight of this property is Lori’s lakefront area. It is just a few steps from the cabin and has two steps down to a beautiful swimming area with a gradually sloping sandy bottom, great for the little ones. The area has a nice canopy of trees for cool shade on hot summer days. There is plenty of room to anchor a boat or personal watercraft plus a clean swimming platform for diving or just lounging. We also enjoyed the paddle boat and fire ring. We had great luck fishing off the dock in both the morning and the evening hours. And, because the lakeside faces west, we enjoyed beautiful sunsets. We are already trying to settle on dates for a return visit next year.

This is house has so much more to offer than what is described it was a great get away for our family!!!

Phoebes place was adorable. I can’t wait to go back! There are steep hills to fire pit area and the trail to the tiki hit where kayaks are stored is a short hike so maybe not appropriate for people with disabilities or small children. But perfect for our group of 6 adults. We absolutely loved the set up and the clean clear lake .

Fellow travelers, You have come upon a very special find in this home. Walking in the entry door, we were captivated by the natural beauty of the lake and home. We felt as if we were literally on top of the lake while being inside the house due to the impressive design and floor to ceiling windows in this picturesque home. Everything indoors and out was spotless, comfortable and inviting. We had up to 6 adults + 2 children, and the home remained spacious. The outdoor eating and sitting areas, coupled with the multiple inside gathering spots provided ample options for both sharing space and taking space. The open floor plan allowed for continued interaction during cooking/clean up - a host's dream. The sandy beach, the sturdy dock, and floating raft were used everyday of our stay for swimming/paddling/fishing/lounging. Suffice it to say that Dan and his husband have created a piece of heaven on earth with this home. They are also kind and generous hosts. We will be back.

Josh was very accommodating. The place was clean and beautiful! The grounds and lake view was gorgeous! Our group tripped a breaker and I had to call him to find the power box. He answered right away, and stayed on the phone with me until the problem was resolved.
