Mining History Echoes

My wife Melody and I bought this 100-yr- old miner's four-square in 2017 and refurbished it to the bright interior shown in the pictures. A new boiler and cast-iron radiators keep it cozy in winter. Off-street parking includes an outlet to plug in your car in sub-zero weather. Uptown Butte's historic attractions are in walking distance; however, Butte's elevation could limit those with respiratory or mobility issues.

Great place to stay! Cozy, 1 bedroom house in uptown Butte. Very clean! The area seemed safe. Perfect for two. Convenient amenities (washer/dryer, stain remover, dishware, zip lock bags). Great water pressure and the shower heats quickly. The full kitchen is perfect for travelers with food allergies who can't dine out easily. Comfortable bed. Cute/nice decor. Responsive host. Thoughtful presentation. We would definitely stay there again. Notes: 1) The primary heater makes a screechy/whistle-like sound as it ramps up, every time it cycles on. It's tolerable, but be advised. 2) Like many historic homes, this house is noticably off-level. Someone with balance/mobility challenges may find themselves unsteady on their feet. It slopes from the living room (high point) downward to the bathroom and bedroom areas (lower points). This is not an issue for an able-bodied person, but is noticeable. 3) There are a few (easy) house rules that aren't shown/listed on the website.

Absolutely loved staying in this Yurt! It was so peaceful and was a great way to disconnect and enjoy views. The linens were fantastic, bed soft and inviting with heated blankets that ended up saving us that night because it dropped in the 30’s. Would highly recommend!!!

Such an enjoyable stay. We were in town for the old St. James hospital ghost hunt and it was within walking distance of the event. The house was so comfortable and we felt right at home. The style and decor was unique with a historical backdrop. This gave it a special feel that we loved. I will definitely stay again next time I am in Butte!
