Farmstay holiday rentals in Waitomo District

My kids loved all the animals. Ann was so friendly and the breakfast was lovely. The WiFi didn’t work in our cabin, we let Ann know at the end of our stay, so hopefully she is able to get that sorted. We were out and about enough that it didn’t bother us much.

Lovely spot. We loved the friendly pigs and horse. Outdoor bath was also a real hit for everyone. About 20min drive to the shuttle depo for the timber trail

Beautiful spot, and views form the deck. The shearer’s quarters is such a good space to relax in.

Certainly a one of a kind accommodation option. It’s a bit tight inside but overall perfectly good for a couple of nights. Just be aware that it is on the road and next door to the holiday park, so it was a little noisy at night and in the morning (dogs barking), and the carpark out front of the living room for the cafe kept having people pull in even though the cafe was closed.

This place was awesome. The property was peaceful and quaint. The dogs were awesome and the bed was very comfortable. A beautiful location for two very jet-lagged travelers

We loved our stay! The menagerie running around is fun, but keep in mind that it is a farm house. The breakfast was a lovely addition to our stay, and we loved the conversations with the host and other guests.

10/10 would recommend for a unique and fun experience! Ann & Ross were super friendly hosts. Very welcoming, friendly and open. The studio was perfect for 4 people and the breakfast was wonderful (even got to eat the last ostrich egg of the season). If you love animals, this is the place to be.

Liz’s farm stay was nothing short of magical. The drive way immediately welcomed you with amazing views and the cutest donkey & horse duo. The studio itself was perfect and very cozy. It matched the description AND had the most amazing views of the hillside. Liz was also sweet enough to stock a small brekkie, which we loved. This was a great stay and I highly recommend.

Mel was a lovely host, super friendly and communicative. Her place was peaceful, the spa was so nice to use at night as we checked in later, and waking up in the morning to the view of the area and the surroundings were serene. Although the room is small, Mel goes above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need and more. Thanks Mel, we’ll be back again!

We had a very pleasant stay in a beautifull guesthouse with a stunning view and sunset over the surrounding hills. With only the sounds of the birds, cows and sheep. We enjoyed it very much!

The painted skies bnb is the one of the best bnbs we have ever stayed in and we travel a lot. We stayed for 3 nights and wish we could stay longer! Breathtaking views of the valley and the meadows, mesmerizing sunsets, the lovely sheep, horses and dogs. The house itself is beautiful and has all the amenities you need and more. A wide selection of teas, butter, jam, milk, bread for breakfast, clean linen and every little attention to detail that Helen has put in to make sure her guests have a comfortable and good time is worth mentioning. The house had everything we needed and more ! Helen is a great host and a wonderful person, she’s friendly, very responsive and made sure we had a great time staying at her place. She even let us feed the sheep. I loved how passionate she’s about hosting her guests. A wonderful experience overall, would love to go back and stay whenever I visit next time. Highly recommended this place 👍🏻

Trevor’s place was perfect for our overnight! I only wish we had more time so we could have enjoyed the unbelievable view from the back yard and the hot tub. We had to take off early in the morning but we definitely missed out! 100% recommend staying here

A great overnight stay on our way to the West Coast. Unfortunately we arrived in pouring rain and couldn't appreciate the scenery on our drive to the property. We stayed overnight on our way home and it was a stunning day and the scenery didn't disappointment. We had our Greyhound Storm with us and he was made welcome, and that's an important consideration when making a booking. Thanks Chris 👍🐾

Ann and Ross were great hosts. They were friendly and accommodating. The dogs and cats were friendly and lovable. The miniature farm animals were so cute as well! Also had a gorgeous night sky for stargazing and breakfast was delicious! We had a great stay!

We stopped here to break up a long car journey and it was exactly what we needed. We had a dreamy spa in the rain at night, a great sleep and cute breakfast in the morning. We'll be booking again if we do the same drive. Thanks for having us to stay, your place is beautiful.

Trudy’s place is truly serene. The river flows through the front yard of the bnb which makes for gorgeous entertainment. No TV and no cell service makes for a great detox. Wifi was perfect should you need to jump onto a meeting or stream a sports game. Without a doubt the place is the most well thought out bnb from a design point of view. Trudy’s attention to detail means you are never short of what you need - every draw had what you’d expect in it. Premium things like the induction stove, outdoor bathing facilities and knife set were all great touches! Thank you for having us Trudy!
