This is the ideal spot for your stay in Kyoto! It's just a stone's throw from the train station and the local shopping mall, making it incredibly convenient. We rented bikes nearby, allowing us to easily explore the beautiful city. The apartment is equipped with top-notch appliances, and the host has anticipated every need to ensure your comfort. Communication with the host was outstanding. I would definitely come back without hesitation!

Great location! Nishiki market was a 2 minute walk. Family mart was just around the corner. Everything was close and convenient. We love the free refreshments and some nice gifts when we arrived. We love it so much we’re already planning my next trip. LOL

Place is very spacious, very clean and good air conditioner. Very comfortable bedding. Shower is plenty big. If you are 6ft or over you’ll need to occasionally duck but tat all over Japan. It’s definitely not a problem. Way better than staying in a hotel as I could sneak downstairs as I am always up before my family and could get work done before activities. Cabs and Ubers go right by, 7-11 is baseball throw away and an excellent I Indian restaurant on the corner. If you have a kid who wants McDonald’s it’s right there too. You’ll have to take a cab or Uber unless you want to walk 20 minutes to things but as I said they are readily available and only cost $10. Highly recommend super spacious and I felt a much better option for us than a small hotel room. Also it had a good washer for clothes.

Wow, et fantastisk lille hus i et roligt område. Vi har været så glade for at bo i Mayumis bolig, hvor alting bare var i orden. Og en vært som var sød og kommunikativ. Klart en kæmpe anbefaling!

I had such a great time staying here! The place was super clean, comfy, and had everything I needed. The location was also perfect, it was a quiet area and super close to transportation services. It was easy to get around and explore the area. The host made everything super easy from check-in to check-out. You can tell they really care about making your stay enjoyable. All in all, it was a lovely experience. I’d definitely recommend this spot to friends, and I’d love to stay again next time I’m in town!

사진과 똑같은 아주아주 깨끗한 일본식 복층 주택입니다. 호스트님은 친절하고 메시지 응답도 아주 빠릅니다. 그리고 숙소 이곳저곳에 이용자를 배려하는 요소가 많이 있어 감동이었습니다. 2층에는 독립된 방이 세개나 있고, 1층도 편히 잘 수 있는 다다미가 있습니다. 잘 수 있는 곳에는 모두 에어컨이 있다는 점도 아주 좋았고, 주방에 많은 식기들과 와인잔, 조미료도 구비되어 있어서 또한 좋았습니다. 그리고 이 곳에 묶을 예정이신 분들은 아침일찍 동네를 꼭 산책해보세요. 조용하고 예쁜 골목들과 기찻길, 그리고 도보로 7분 거리의 대나무숲까지.. 완벽합니다. 매우 만족한 최고의 숙소였습니다. 단점은 말할것이 거의 없지만, 한가지 말하자면 숙소로 들어오는 골목이 좁은편입니다. 저는 도요타의 복시(7인승) 차량을 가지고 갔는데, 숙소앞에 주차할때는 동료들의 도움을 받아서 그나마 수월하게 주차할 수 있었습니다. 차량이 도요타 복시보다 더 크다면 일본에서의 운전을 꽤 잘하는 분이거나, 호스트님이 제공하는 두번째 주차장을 이용하시는 것이 나을 것 같습니다. 이번에는 직장 동료들과 같지만, 다음에 가족들과 또 방문하고 싶은 숙소였습니다.

We had a good stay. Mineral noise since it was in a residential area. Walkable to public transit and Nishiki Market. AC was very good. Washer and dryer worked well for small loads.

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood. Location gives fantastic access to the city through the Green Line (Karasuma). Easy to access from Kyoto Station shinkansen. Less than ten minute walk to the Aeon Mall. All facilities in working order. The washing machine is very useful in extending the usefulness of your carried clothing.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

I can’t say enough great things about Uzu’s place. It was so clean and comfortable. When we checked in she was very thorough about the house and also about the surrounding areas and places to go. She had a great hand drawn map of the area that we actually used a lot! The traditional beds we chose to sleep in were very comfortable. Everything in the house is labeled which makes it very easy to find things. Uzu went out of her way to show us local restaurants and spots to try. She is a very friendly host that cares about making her guests stays very enjoyable! One thing we found was that it was a bit out of the way of central Kyoto. However, if you want to experience a quiet traditional neighborhood this is the spot! It’s about a 10 min walk to the closest train station or bus stop. This house is lovely awesome and perfectly clean. Our stay was wonderful and more worth the price. The private onsen inside the tiny Japanese garden is beautiful. The location is very quiet, near the river and less 5 minutes by walk from the station and konbini. Everything you need is provided inside the house, so you don’t have to worry about

Das Ryokan ist wunderschön, typisch japanisch und passend für unsere Reise mit der großen Familie. Wir haben die schönen Schiebetüren, den typischen Boden, die großen Fenstertüren und ganz besonders den unglaublich wunderbaren japanischen Garten jeden Tag bewundert.

This is a great place and it's in a good central location in Kyoto. I loved that it was across from the Imaya Coffee shop - a great place to start the day a few steps away! Bedroom was very comfortable and the house had everything we needed. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Kyoto.

We felt right at home from the first moment, and we had an extremely comfortable stay. Shimpei is really kind, respond and considerate. we appreciate his efforts to meet us personally and provide everything we need. full amenities are provided, organized and equipped. The apartment was very nice and located very close to a train station making it very easy to get around Kyoto. Royce was an excellent host and answered very quickly. I would stay here again and recommend anyone to stay here too.

Terry was an amazing host from start to finish. She picked us up and dropped us off at the local metro station, although it's only an 8 minute walk, it was a big help with the luggage. She was always in touch, for example when a electric kettle was not working well, she immediately replaced it (there was also a normal kettle to use in the meantime!). The space was perfect for our needs, well equipped, clean, cozy, and had a sense of nostalgia that was very enjoyable. It's in a quiet neighborhood behind a historic temple, a few minutes walk to grocery stores, a delightful neighborhood izakaya, bakeries, and a place for the best breakfast and coffee ever called Hive. I will definitely stay at Terry's place the next time I make it to Kyoto... hopefully soon!

We stayed here for few days during our Japan trip. The house was beautiful and you can get a true guesthouse experience. Location was good, in a quiet neighborhood and not too far from public services and some good temple sights with almost zero crowds. Owner was very kind and responded quickly to any questions. Book this if you want to experience living in a traditional Japanese residence.

We had a wonderful stay in this very clean and comfortable home, which had everything we needed—whether we were relaxing inside or heading out to explore. After a week of travel, we especially appreciated having laundry facilities and helpful supplies on hand. The space felt roomy for the two of us, especially compared to other places we’ve stayed in Japan. May and Milan were very responsive, and the detailed instructions made it easy to use the Japanese appliances. The location was excellent, just a 10-15 minute walk to Nishiki Market, with plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. We’d love to return and would happily stay at May’s place again!

We had a great five-night stay as a family of three. The apartment was exactly as described and fit us well — it felt a bit tight by the end, but that was mostly due to the shopping bags piling up! The location is very convenient, just a short walk from Kyoto Station. While we didn’t use it, the small kitchenette looked well-equipped for basic meals. What really stood out was our host, Mr. Yoneda. He was incredibly kind and responsive, even meeting us on the street late at night to make sure we found the place without trouble. He gave us a thorough tour of the apartment and even had a sweet surprise for our daughter. If you’re looking for a ryokan-style stay in Kyoto that’s affordable, comfortable, and comes with a fantastic host — this is a great choice.
