We start on the banks of the Danube canal to find out why the Romans decided to settled down here of all places. A short walk later we marvel at the impressive tower of St. Stephen's Cathedral while I tell you about its hidden symbolism of numbers. Further highlights on the way include Mozart's apartment, the old Greek quarter, romantic hidden alleys and courtyards, the Spanish Riding School as well as an almost real da Vinci. Upon arrival at the vast Hofburg Palace complex we will finally talk about the rise of the mightiest family in the history of Europe: the Habsburgs.
But Vienna's history doesn't stop with the fall of the Habsburgs: where did Hitler speak in front of 200,000 cheering Austrians? And what makes modern-day Vienna the city with the highest standard of living worldwide?

Our itinery: Albertina museum, Opera House, the Hofburg, Volksgarten and at the end some small streets in the centre.
No matter if you want to have photos of yourself, with family, partner or friends - we will take multiple candid and posing shots at jaw-dropping locations. These will be photos that your friends, family and followers will envy you for :)
You will receive 15 photos in high resolution so you can print them out and hang them to your wall or add them to your holiday album.
If you think you are not photogenic or you are shy in front of the camera, don't worry! I will guide you concerning posing and make sure that you feel comfortable!

I would like to share my passion for classical music and dive into the world of Viennese classical music together with you for one evening. Together with my colleagues, we as Mozart Ensemble Vienna play impressive pieces of Viennese classical music. Be enchanted by the world of classical music and immerse yourself mentally in the time in which the great masters of Viennese classical music worked!
There is no better place for this than the Sala Terrena, where our concerts take place. The Sala Terrena is the oldest concert hall in Vienna and serves as a perfect atmosphere to put us into the time of Mozart, Schubert or Beethoven. At the time, Mozart himself played in this historic place and earned his living for his first apartment in Vienna. The Sala Terrena, which is only a few minutes' walk away from St. Stephen's Cathedral, also impresses with its beautiful frescos with late venetian renaissance style.

You are going to see the most important sights from different epochs and learn about the influence of the Habsburg family and their power. Hidden passageways used as shortcuts by the locals will take us into picturesque courtyards and tranquil side streets.
This tour is about oddities, quirky stories of the city's past and the beauty of Vienna beyond the main attractions. We start on its most Italian "piazza" and will amongst others marvel at some fine Baroque illusional painting, visit the place where Mozart got a kick in his gifted backside and stroll through the former Jewish heart of Vienna. We look at the city's most famous doorway and discover Beethoven's neighborhood. Finally, the "Muse who's had it" will introduce us to Vienna's scientific heart and academic hall of fame. Always walking the most charming alleys along the way we'll stay off the big tourist tracks.

Schnitzel & Strudel: Cooking with Lena

Suitable for beginners as well as intermediates!
In this cooking class I will share the secret of my crispy schnitzels and juicy apple strudel with you. With me you will learn about Austrian cuisine, the kind my grandmother cooked for me when I was a small child. The cooking class takes place at my home - in the apartment where already my great-grandparents lived.
First I will tell you something about Austrian cuisine, then I will explain the dishes that we will cook together later. The menu will have 2 or 3 courses depending on the number of participants: (my grandmother's famous Old Viennese potato soup), chicken schnitzel with cucumber
and potato salad and freshly baked apple strudel for dessert!
It is very important to me that the participants actually cook as much as possible themselves, with my help of course, so that they can then cook the dishes at home. After cooking, we will eat all the dishes together.
We prepare traditional Austrian dishes. Most dishes contain meat.
I can also make the cooking course vegetarian, lactose-free or gluten-free.
(Vegan is not possible, also you cannot make gluten-free apple strudel) Please just let us know when booking!

Since ages, around 700 hectares of wine have been cultivated within Vienna's urban area. The roots of viticulture here go as far back as the Romans, who populated the city two thousand years ago. But what exactly is left of the former empire in Vienna today and how is that related to Viennese wine? Get to the bottom of these questions in the truest sense of the word with a wine tasting in Vienna's deepest wine cellar. A trained wine expert will lead you into the cellar to taste three different wines. The wines range from classic Viennese wines to other Austrian wines, which will, of course, be paired with a small snack from the family-owned delicacy-store.

Indulge in some of the city’s most delectable desserts on this Vienna pastry tour through the city’s local neighborhoods.
We start off the afternoon by riding the subway to a family-owned bakery in the 10th district (Favoriten district) where you will be treated to a variety of typical Viennese pastries, including the famously airy “krapfen” (jam-filled doughnuts).
After we’ll ride again the subway over to the 4th district, where we’ll visit a little-known coffee house that makes authentic Austrian cakes and strudels.
Finally, we’ll walk over to the Naschmarkt, Vienna’s most famous market, to sample some handmade Austrian chocolate creations.

Best of Vienna Walking Tour
Discover Vienna's historic old town on a fun and comprehensive walking tour with me. We leave the big tour groups behind and explore the city in our own small team. Let's make it interactive - there are no dumb questions ;)
We start on the banks of the Danube canal to find out why the Romans decided to settled down here of all places. A short walk later we marvel at the impressive tower of St. Stephen's Cathedral while I tell you about its hidden symbolism of numbers. Further highlights on the way include Mozart's apartment, the old Greek quarter, romantic hidden alleys and courtyards, the Spanish Riding School as well as an almost real da Vinci. Upon arrival at the vast Hofburg Palace complex we will finally talk about the rise of the mightiest family in the history of Europe: the Habsburgs.
But Vienna's history doesn't stop with the fall of the Habsburgs: where did Hitler speak in front of 200,000 cheering Austrians? And what makes modern-day Vienna the city with the highest standard of living worldwide?
While taking in the beauty of the city I will keep you entertained with the best stories about its past and present - plus some questionable jokes!

Classical Concerts at Mozart's house
I would like to share my passion for classical music and dive into the world of Viennese classical music together with you for one evening. Together with my colleagues, we as Mozart Ensemble Vienna play impressive pieces of Viennese classical music. Be enchanted by the world of classical music and immerse yourself mentally in the time in which the great masters of Viennese classical music worked!
There is no better place for this than the Sala Terrena, where our concerts take place. The Sala Terrena is the oldest concert hall in Vienna and serves as a perfect atmosphere to put us into the time of Mozart, Schubert or Beethoven. At the time, Mozart himself played in this historic place and earned his living for his first apartment in Vienna. The Sala Terrena, which is only a few minutes' walk away from St. Stephen's Cathedral, also impresses with its beautiful frescos with late venetian renaissance style.

Take a break from the imperial grandeur of Vienna's historic old town and discover its secret alleyways and hidden squares instead. We leave the busy main roads behind us and and will find an abundance of quaint little corners that are otherwise easily missed. Hidden passageways used as shortcuts by the locals will take us into picturesque courtyards and tranquil side streets.
This tour is about oddities, quirky stories of the city's past and the beauty of Vienna beyond the main attractions. We start on its most Italian "piazza" and will amongst others marvel at some fine Baroque illusional painting, visit the place where Mozart got a kick in his gifted backside and stroll through the former Jewish heart of Vienna. We look at the city's most famous doorway and discover Beethoven's neighborhood. Finally, the "Muse who's had it" will introduce us to Vienna's scientific heart and academic hall of fame. Always walking the most charming alleys along the way we'll stay off the big tourist tracks.
