Changing the Guard, or Guard Mounting as it is officially called, takes place outside Buckingham Palace every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 10.45am and lasts around 45 minutes, with the actual 'handover' takes place at 11am. The Buckingham Palace gates and the steps of the Victoria Memorial just opposite are two of the best spots to watch Changing the Guard. Alternatively, get there early and try to grab a spot on The Mall, between Marlborough Road and Buckingham Palace, for a close-up view of the guards marching past.

Christmas lights ✨🎄

Planning a trip to London for Christmas By mid-November, all the Christmas lights in London have been switched on except the Christmas Tree in Trafalgar Square. All the ice rinks are open too, and many Christmas markets too 🌟 Most shops will also have their Christmas shopfronts installed. Harrods, Selfridges and Fortnum and Mason´s are well worth visiting. Every single shop in the most famous shopping areas, such as Oxford Street, Regent Street, New Bond street, Carnaby str & Covent Garden will also have amazing installation.
