Parks & Nature

Fairly busy hiking trail but not nearly as congested as Runyon - gorgeous views of the canyon and valley. You can hike from one end to the other and back, or you can loop back to the parking lot via the street (everyone does this so just follow everyone'e else). Access this trail from the Wilacre parking lot - take Laurel Canyon boulevard north towards the valley, left on Fryman

This hike is the best nearby because hardly anyone does it (unheard of in LA) - it's great for well behaved dogs to be off leash as no one really cares. It's also GORGEOUS - great views of the valley. Shortly after you start on the trail make a hard left on the path that goes down into the canyon. Keep left at the first fork and then left again towards the "Rainforest" - it's great! The parking lot for this hike is off of Mulholland - when leaving the house take Wonderland down and then make a left at the school onto Laurel Pass, then left on Mulholland and the entrance to the parking lot will come up on your right in about 200 years
