Parks & Nature
Holyrood Park is a short walk from Edinburgh’s Royal Mile in the heart of the city. It is a 640 acre Royal Park adjacent to Holyrood Palace. The parks highest point is Arthurs Seat, an ancient volcano, and sits 251m above sea level giving excellent view of the city. The hike is mildly challenging but the views are spectacular and I would thoroughly recommend the trek if the skies are clear.

Shopping
There's not many cities in the world where the most popular street of shops has a view of a medieval castle, but Edinburgh's Princes Street does just that! It's unique in the sense that all the shops only line one side of the street, with the other side giving shoppers breathtaking views of the Old Town cityscape. There is a plethora of shops including marks & spencers, Jenners, topshop, urbanoutfitters, apple, boots and many many more. Princes Street Gardens, which runs alongside is a venue for seasonal markets including the German Christmas Market. There is also the Farmers' Market selling fresh, homegrown produce is held every Saturday from 9am - 2pm up by Castle Terrace.
