Food Scene

One of my favourite brunch spots in the city but great at any time of day. (Possibly the most gastronomic brunch I've had). Italian bistro run by one of Toronto's top chef's, Rob Gentile. Classy casual atmosphere with shared tables and a nice wine bar. Open from 8am until 2am. Small plates make sharing with friends and trying lots of dishes a must! If you like bar buca, try buca and Jacob's Steak House for more formal meals.

Located in the split-level space that was once Roxy Blu nightclub, Peter Tsebelis (Brant House, Brassaii, Maro), has created a high-end steakhouse. Jacobs features Pennsylvania USDA Prime offered in cuts ranging from petit to Flintstone are aged under executive chef Ben Gundy's care for at least 28 days and up to 56. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Pricey restaurant that's great for a special night out or a big splurge. Reservations recommended.

Currently located on Queen Street West and soon to open directly across the street from the condo!!! Yay!! I absolutely love this place. Fantastic Thai Street style food in a lively and casual atmosphere. It started as a lower level restaurant on Adelaide street and has kept growing and growing. It's definitely because of the food!! Never had better! Really hoping that the casual atmosphere maintains when they open in their fancy new digs across the street. Fingers crossed!

One the the most unique neighborhoods in the city. While still retaining some of it's Bohemian roots, cool new bars and restaurants are raising rents and the area is changing. Check it out before it disappears. Vintage clothing shops, veggie markets, even a taco shop and a grilled cheese restaurant the eclectic mix is hard to beat.
