It was a pleasure to stay at the Nemasu Lodge together with my friends for a few days. We enjoyed the quietness and privacy of the accommodation. The nearby beach was clean and perfect to relax. We had booked rooms with sea view. The rooms come with a small terrace which is nice to hang around in the evening hours and enjoy the sunset. It was lovely to fall asleep with the sound of the waves. The staff was very helpful and friendly - Hillary was reachable to all times and gave helpful advice and recommendations. Staying at Greg and Hilary’s place was a great Airbnb experience. Hilary and her staff made us feel welcome right from the start. The hut was spacious, light and clean and we really loved the hut’s African-style. This is what you hope to find when it comes to staying at an accomdation. Besides that, the location (the beach is just in front of the accomodation) is a great addition, everything is carefully looked after and the food (lunch and dinner) is very tasty. The place is also really really beautiful! The breakfast however could use some fruits free of charge (right now you can add a few options to your breakfast - bread with (peanut)butter or jam, tea/coffee and eggs - if you are willing to pay extra). Besides that, the WiFi didn’t work during our whole stay so we weren’t able to contact the host of our next accomodation nor could we check-in online for our flights. Despite this, the accomodation itself really made up for this, and in some way it actually felt kind of liberating to be offline for a few days. Thank you for everything!

Great, large room with access to a pool and restaurant / bar. Location is good, easy to get to the beach and town. I recommend this place to anyone traveling to Bijilo.

When we first stumbled upon this apartment on Airbnb, it seemed almost too good to be true. We thought there was a catch! Everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Mr Sade is the most thoughtful, fun host. He provided us with all the information. The apartment is really comfortable. The kitchen contains everything you need. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom and terrace are clean and light. The location was incredible. He went way beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Thanks Mr Sade and Mica apartment for such a wonderful time! We will be back!!

We were the first guests to book this property with Air BnB and the only people staying at the time. The staff welcomed us as thought we were members of their family, staying here is a very bespoke experience. Las, the chef, was very responsive to our tastes. There is a choice of European or African dishes. His chicken domada was superb. Food was plentiful and can be served at tines to suit you. Breakfast is included in rental price. Farakunku can arrange transfers or days out with their helpful driver Bob. We had a great day with Bob visiting turtles, reptiles, a mosque, riverside and beach. They also organised half a days birdwatching for us. The lodge is a little oasis away from the dusty tracks of rural Gambia. Extremely peaceful and with a plunge pool to cool off. Facilities are better than your average lodge with hot water and WiFi. Lodge services are paid for by bank transfer so there is no need to take lots of cash. Thanks to Fatou, Lamin, Las and Bob for great service.

Sade’s place was in a secure apartment style building. Security was provided 24/7. The place was clean and they came to clean and change the bedding for our entire stay. I would absolutely use her place for a stay in the future especially since she was nice enough to accommodate my sudden request for a stay.

Great place, great location & great value for money. Patricia and Emmanuel were particularly welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

Super tolles Resort . einfach wunderschön und der stand ist kurz zu Fuß durch das resort erreichbar. Jede Menge Restaurants, Bars und Clubs um die Ecke. Super sauber und total tolles Personal. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt

Ok so you’ve read the other reviews & yes the bed was hard but I mentioned it to the boys & they said we shall change it for you so no problem. Though I will say even though it was hard it kind moulded to your shape & I actually found it very comfortable. We loved the food, yes it was a little repetitive but all you had to do was ask for something different. Shopping for food is done daily so you can tell the boys what you want. Everyone was really friendly & welcoming so you kinda felt like part of a family. The beach empty & beautiful you get to share it with the lodge’s 2 dogs & the local cows who come to sunbathe daily from around 10am. If you are looking for peace & tranquillity, away from the tourist strip then you have found it. We spent our days lounging in the sun relaxing, walking with the dogs & cleaning the beach (beach cleaned by Sam George & Les Robinson!). Only regret is that we could only stay for 2 weeks we could have quite happily of stayed much much longer.

Staying at about time was a unique experience. The place is breathtaking, everyone is very friendly and kind and everything made us feel at home. We enjoyed spending the three days we booked there so much that we ended up staying another week! We made many friends and hope to return in the near future. Thank you to everyone who works there, it was wonderful!
