Bar Ricardo is a Great place for Lunch or Tapas after a walk by the old Turia Park. This is not a Touristy Place. It is where locals gather for High end Tapas. Service could be a little slow and dry but worth it.

My favorite Restaurant in Valencia. Again this is not a tourist place. It is a real local high quality food. Please be mindful of the local customs and respect their passion for food. If you are going to order a steak well done, this is not the place for you. If you want a wonderful dining experience, please go. they respect food and sustainability. If you like truffles (when is season) you got them here.

Paella is only eaten at lunch time. Paella Valenciana or Seafood. Please note that Paella Valenciana is with Duck and Rabbit; so if you want Seafood be very clear when you order it. The fried calamari are to die for. If you don't have a car, you can take the city bus #14. Reservations are required, or they will not sit you. The food and service are impeccable, and the restaurant is an old Barraca with a straw roof. Not a tourist place. Not the place to ask for low salt or special dietary requirements. Out of Town and not cheap but very worth it.

Sightseeing

The City of the Arts and Ciences is of course a must see in Valencia. I highly recommend that you visit it at night. THe reflection of the iconic buildings on the reflecting pools is an unforgettable experience. Worth the schlep!

This is a good museum about the different periods of the history of the beautiful city of Valencia. The artifacts and objects on display were very nicely presented. There are loads of interactive things too which I think are great for kids too (it is also fun as an adult! :D) with videos, video subtitles for hard of hearing guests, and more. I really liked the interior of the museum too (an old aqueduct I believe) , there were information books in English and other languages so that all the descriptions of things on display were accessible in different languages.
