Our favorite diner is the Q Street Diner, located off of E street in Knightville at 9 Q St., Traditional diner food served by some of the nicest people in town. We have their menu as well. Q Street’s hours are 7 to 2, Saturday and Sunday, and 7 to 3 the other days. To Walk: 25 minutes.

Another friendly place for a diner breakfast in Knightville is Uncle Andy’s Diner, at 171 Ocean St. The owner is fun and enthusiastic to their guests. Open 6 to 2 most days. To Walk: 24 minutes.

Scratch Baking Co. opened up a satellite retail establishment just up the street, at an old gas station on the corner of Sawyer and Broadway. The Toast Bar is a quirky, bagel-breakfast-sandwich concept with bread and bagels served fresh out of their ovens next door. They also serve Coffee by Design. Toast Bar’s hours are 8 to 2 Thursday through Sunday. They are closed other days. To Walk:: 7 minutes.

Omi’s Coffee Shop serves locally roasted beans & baked goods in colorful surrounds. It moved to SoPo from the West End several months ago, and as of this writing, we haven’t braved the lines yet. The CIA Cafe (“Coffee-Ice Cream-Art”) is credited with practically single-handedly making nearby Knightville a cool place to come to. Not just coffee, ice cream and art, CIA serves up very tasty sandwiches and soup, and is a favorite place for people to work using their free wi-fi access. Their hours are 7 to 5. To Walk: about 30 minutes.

It’s solid American Diner food and the prices are reasonable, although it’s practically impossible to park within several blocks of the place during high season. Their hours are 4am to 9pm daily.
