You might need a car if you plan to go to cenotes for instance. I'd recommend this place as it's cheap and I've had good experiences with them.

At the roundabout there is an open air gym which also has some bars, in case you're into body-weight exercise. I come here from time to time to practice freerunning. They also organize yoga at dawn.

This is a new restaurant which is focused around meat (steaks, fajitas, etc). Not as cheap as some other restaurants nearby, but very tasty.

Right next to Hooters., this is one of my favorites in Cancun. It's a chain from the US, but here they have a lot of Mexican food as well. Best of all: it's all you can eat.
