Scandi bread here is delicious, as is the coffee. It's an informal little café - perhaps better suited for a grab and go than to sit in.

We love this spot for its lack of pretention. It's an old-school Notting Hill favourite, delicious bagels and breakfasts and it's pet friendly.

This family run Italian restaurant is reliably delicious. It's one of the best-kept secrets of Notting Hill creatives and it's not unusual to run into a famous actor, writer or director here.

If you ever wondered what Notting Hill was like before it became gentrified, this great little coffee shop is a good indication. It still have a brilliant community feel and the most delicious coffee in the hood.

If you're looking for groceries, Waitrose is the more upmarket option for food. It's about a 12 minute walk. Closer options although with less choice would be Tesco on Portobello Road.

Plush armchairs, food and drinks and blockbuster hits. It's a great way to see a movie but do reserve in advance. The Electric Diner next door is also fairly good. It can be fun and buzzing at night.

If cooking is too much effort Grocer on Elgin does great pre-prepared meals. Lots of options and wine too! Just don't look at the bill.

Neighbourhoods

Golborne Road is a gem of a market street. Lots of lovely little cafés, boutiques and market stalls (if you're there on Saturday). The Portugese bakery at the top end has custard tarts that are to die for.

Sightseeing

Best bit is between Portobello Road and Chepstow Corner. Lots of tempting boutiques in the area. Try Aimé on Ledbury Road, Sézane, Me&Em or just about anywhere else. If the circular economy is more of your vibe, Oxfam on Westbourne Grove or Fara on Blenheim Crescent can be great.
