In the shaddow of the Acropolis the neighborhood of Koukaki with its unevenly paved sidewalks lined with bitter orange trees has an undeniably urban village feel. Koukaki ranks in the top five most interesting neighborhoods in the world to visit. Perhaps the most charming area in the neighborhood is the pedestrian zone running from Koukaki square along Georgaki Olympiou street, which has a city meets jungle feel to it. You can combine a visit to Koukaki when you visit Acropolis or the National Museum of Contemporay Art.
