Kika is absolutely my first pick for a beautiful restaurant with the most divine food! It is a relaxed atmosphere, with incredible service. You won't be disappointed. I highly recommend the 'Te Mana Lamb Shoulder' which feeds two people. Bookings are essential due to its popularity and can be made online here: https://kika.nz/

Hello Ranger is the new sister restaurant to 'b.social brewery' and is a two minute walk from your room! It is casual dining with delicious pizza, burgers, main meals and of course local craft beer. We often walk over to eat and have a drink here as it is so convenient.

Burrito Craft is mexican food and is located in amongst a number of food caravans. You can eat outside on the picnic tables. We often order the burrito bowl, which is delicious. I recommend the fish!

Roy's Peak is by far the most spectacular view in Wanaka. Allow 3.5 hours casual walking one way. If you are a hiker it will take you around 2.5 - 3 hours . I personally recommend taking walking poles! It can be tough on the knees coming down ;)

Hook is a gorgeous place to visit. Enjoy some fresh salmon, a drink or a pizza. The highlight is renting a rod and fishing for your own salmon. There is hours of entertainment here, and they will smoke your salmon or slice it fresh however you like!

What to pack

Warm Clothes in Winter

Winter in Wanaka is cold. If you come from a warmer climate, we recommend you purchase a goose down puffer jacket that will keep you warm outside. A beanie and gloves are also helpful so you can still enjoy a walk outside during the day.
