Favorite Beaches
Gorgeous water, white sand and a long coastline. 'Tourist's Lumaha'i' is on the east side (just around the bend after Hanalei) and has about a 2-3 minute hike. It's the most breathtaking part of the beach. 'Local's Lumaha'i' is at the west side of the beach adjacent to the river. The sand can get VERY HOT midday so be careful.

Gorgeous water, white sand and a long coastline. 'Tourist's Lumaha'i' is on the east side (just around the bend after Hanalei) and has about a 2-3 minute hike. It's the most breathtaking part of the beach. 'Local's Lumaha'i' is at the west side of the beach adjacent to the river. The sand can get VERY HOT midday so be careful.
Amazing for snorkeling & early morning shell collecting. Parking can be tough so getting there earlier is always advised.

Hands down, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. This beach is protected by a reef and has a lifeguard on duty between 8:00am - 5:00pm. Requires advance reservations.

My personal favorite beach, world-wide. Hanalei Bay is bracketed by the Hanalei Mountains and has a sandy bottom from the Hanelei Pier extending all the way west to Waikoko's. I'm here every morning with my golden retriever 'Duke' doing my "Gratitude Walk or Jog". Perfect place to spend the day, relax, get a tan, swim and unwind.
This is a great place to learn to surf (next to the pier), is ideal for family photos (early morning & sunset), and holds a magical spot in my heart. If you're there in the morning before 8:00am, look for me & Duke. We will either be walking, jogging or swimming.
