Downtown Augusta has something for everyone. Start at the Metro Cafe for a coffee with or without whiskey, then try an escape room or ax throwing at Source Code. Then walk around a bit and try any one of the restaurants in the area, they are all good. Bees Knees, The Hive, Craft and Vine, Frog Hollow, or head off Broad street and get some crayfish at Beemie's At the River. You are also close to the river walk if you eat too much and need to stretch your legs. Downtown Augusta is tons of fun.

Parks & Nature

This place is terrifying. Alligators, snakes, orb weaver spiders etc. But, if you stay on the extra wide path and keep your eyes open, you will be fine. Plenty of birdlife, wildlife, and local critters are about. We take our kids there and push the youngest in a stroller.

Savannah Rapids Pavilion is where you can park your car and then see the Augusta Canal, locks, and/or go for a run/walk/bike ride for as far as you like. If you are a long distance runner or a biker capable of 20 miles in a day, start here and follow the trails for about 10 miles, all the way to downtown Augusta or Hammond's Ferry. We would bike to Manuel's, eat breakfast and then bike back. Makes a great day.
