Food scene

Amazing Italian with moderate pricing! The food and setting are great, located right downtown. They usually have relaxing live music, but Covid has limited that. It’s a must for the Vida Mar team.

Sunset Mona Lisa for dinner (just before sunset); or drinks (if you can do a bar reservation) is a must! The view and the food are spectacular, it’s voted “One of the Most Beautiful Places to have dinner in the World”— it’s Cabo at its finest!

If you take a quick two-minute walk down the beach toward the marina, there is a casual place to eat called Tabascos. It’s fun and inexpensive, and there’s not much better than eating oceanside with your feet in the sand!

Fun bar & small plates restaurant that is right next door to Sunset Mona Lisa. It has the same spectacular view, but more of a casual atmosphere with live music or sometimes a DJ. If you decide to go, have the concierge make you a reservation- they book up quick!

The Office is a favorite stop for many, it’s also right on the beach down by the marina. It’s been there since Cabo was “founded”; no doubt with the idea of “Honey, I am the office…”. It’s a bit touristy, but definitely a fun visit.

Right next to The Office on the beach - a good place for happy hour/drinks!

Another great sunset restaurant, also on the upscale side similar to Sunset Mona Lisa. We recommend doing one or the other.

Sightseeing

Thursday Night there is an Art Walk in San Jose (25 minutes north). It’s an outdoor venue with all the locals and their art. It’s a great place to pick up some of the Mexican culture and meet and talk with some locals. If you go, you might want to have dinner at Don Sanchez afterwards, it’s one of the best for Mexican(located right off the main square of the Art Walk).

City advice

Getting around

Parking & Transportation

There are a couple of surface lots in the middle of town that work well, and the parking structure at the Puerto Paraiso Mall is an easy in-and-out garage in a central location. If you’re ticketed, (generally they target tourist/rental vehicles) they take your license plate and you have to go to the police stationto pay the fine to get it back (which can take a long time). If it does happen, you should be able to give one of the hosts at the Resort $20 to do it for you.
Getting around

ATM

There is an ATM machine in the market right on the property. The US dollar is accepted in Cabo, so there is really no needto bring pesos. The credit card companies generally give you the prevailing exchange rate.
Getting around

Groceries

There is a medium sized market on the property and there is a Walmart in the main shopping center in Cabo right across the street. There is also one higher-end grocery store called Mednau Selecto in San Jose. It’s about a 20 minute drive, but worth it if you like to cook-in a lot.
Don't miss

Rojo & Los Tres Hermanos

Right when you walk down from the main pool to the beach (by the loungers) you will no doubt run into “Rojo” (short for Roger) from Los Tres Hermanos. They do all of the water sports and dinner cruises, etc. The short 30-minute boat cruise to the Arch & Lover’s Beach (also Scooby-Doo rock!) is a good idea; it’s inexpensive and gives you a good lay of the land in Cabo (location of the marina, Lands’ End, the hotel corridor, etc. Plus, it‘s always nice to get on the water one way or the other! Tell Rojo you’re staying with Señor Siegel in #1605 and that he told you he would hook you up!
