Best view in the area! Take in the surroundings while sipping on margaritas at Hortencia’s. Always a popular spot but they always seem to have a perfect table available on their patio to enjoy the view. The food is really good too!

Easy hike suitable for all ages. Park in camp Seeley in small dirt parking lot. This trail (½ mile) is short and along a creek with some small waterfalls and 10 - 15 foot waterfall near Heart Rock. Some of the small waterfalls could be used as natural water slides. This easy hike follows Seeley Creek North to Heart Rock overlook. After about 1/2 mile along the trail, you’ll be headed downhill and see a small pond right next to the trail, then the trail starts heading uphill. At the top of the hill, there’s a fallen tree. That tree is pointing toward the Heart Rock overlook. You’ll have to work your way down a short rock cliff to the giant rock. You’ll be able to see Heart rock from the top or the sides of that giant rock.

Preparation For Heading To The Mountains

Up here in the mountains, weather can affect many things. It is a few small communities tied together by just a few roads so when we have emergencies our resources maybe limited. Make sure to check the weather before coming up. If there is a chance of snow, bring chains for your car. You will be required to put them on if it snows. Also, check caltrans for road closures. Sometimes, power lines can go down due to snow and rain as well as internet so be prepared for Mother Nature.
