Theo Chocolate is a local favorite and they have an adorable shop right next to the canal. There is a dinosaur-shaped hedge across the street to delight kids as well. Fremont has a Farmer's Market on Sundays 10-4. Fremont is a good place to park and walk around to see the shops and restaurants. Similar to Ballard but a little more "grungy".

Cle Elum/Suncadia is 1.5 hours away, but may be another place in Washington you'd like to visit for a few nights. We rent our home there on Airbnb as well (https://airbnb.com/h/murphy-lodge). If you visit, the main draw other than nature is the Suncadia resort and main street in Roslyn.
