Do you love refined, delicious Italian food!? Then I highly recommend you check out Mercato! Mercato is one of our favourite restaurants hands down. It’s located in the hip and vibrant Mission neighbourhood and the food is fantastic. Their caprese salad is unreal! And we love sharing the bistecca with a side of pasta and/or asparagus. Yum yum yum!

City/town information

Calgary is a young vibrant outdoorsy city with a great food scene and amazing river pathways (for biking or going on a nice walk)! We love living in Calgary!! East Village, Inglewood, 17th Ave, Mission, Kensington and Bridgeland are cool neighbourhoods to check out. The Science Centre and the Zoo are great for families with kids. Also, we love going floating down the Bow River. Calgart is well knows for its Stampede in July (Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth) and it’s very close proximity to the spectacular Rocky Mountains.

Love going out to Canmore for the day for a hike and a late lunch. Main Street is super cute! Also, there’s an amazing off leash park/forests area for dogs. Ask us about it if you want to take your pup there!

Fun/Cool Things to do Around YYC

One of our favourite things to do with friends and/or family on a sunny summer day is rent a raft from The Paddle Station (not very far from the accommodation at all) and float down the Bow River. Once you float to St Patrick’s Island you just give them the raft back and don’t have to worry about transporting it back. We then walk over to the Simmon’s building for either a burger and bear on Charbar’s rooftop terrace or some delicious food/pastries from Sidewalk Citizen and a coffee from Phil & Sebastian’s
