1.5 miles from our place. The Buffalo Zoo is on Delaware Park property and there’s a golf course on the park too, also a smoothie and snack stand called The Juicery. You can walk, run, bike or blade around the paved path loop. One lap is about 1.7 miles in length. Also a great place to picnic, or play various casual sports. There are tennis courts, baseball diamonds and a playground.

1.5 miles from our place. Hoyt Lake is a great place to walk around or bring a blanket to sit out and relax, read or have a picnic. There is a restaurant on Hoyt Lake called The Terrace which has great food and cocktails too, with a view. It’s also attached to the Buffalo History Museum which would be worth a visit too.

They’re running this a little different in 2021. Rather than sitting and watching a play at one stage, this is now a free “guided walk-thru play” (donations accepted) that runs each Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings through Aug 12. Titled “A Midsummer Night’s Walk”. Reservations required - go to ShakespeareInDelawarepark.org to reserve your spot, see FAQs and learn more.

Getting around

Reddy bikes

There are a lot of nearby places to bike to, so go to reddybikeshare.com and see details on how to rent a bike (somewhat similar to the electric scooters like Lime etc., they’re good for riding around a bit or going from point A to B.)
