Our Favorite Parks
These are the parks we like the best in the area! We have kids so all of these parks will have either a beach or playground or a bit of both. I will also include some parks in neighbouring towns that might provide some interest!
This park is also a campground. It's a great waterfront park with a shaded playground for kids! There are many trails to wander around and would be a super place for a picnic! There is also a mini put course and a little snack bar.

The park is actually called McCarroll Park and it is a lovely shaded park that has a small splash pad for little ones and a playground. It is across from the lovely waterfront walkway in Meaford.

A lovely shaded park in the summer on the banks of the Big Head River. In the winter the many trees make it a winter wonderland. No playground here, but my kids still enjoy this place. There are many access points to the river for the summer and it's a very pretty setting very close to the Airbnb.

This park is in Owen Sound and will take approximately half and hour to reach. This is a lovely park that has something for everyone! A restaurant and ice cream spot, playground, meanering river, small bird zoo, pool and waterfalls!

It's actually just called Moreau park but HAS an enclosed dogpark! It is in Thornbury which is about a 10-15 minute drive and is a favorite spot for teens and anyone with a skateboard, scooter etc! There is also a playground for children.

Food scene
Delicious curry restaurant with waterfront views. It's one of the only resturants with a water view. It might not look like much on the outside but we've always had great experience with the food! Also offers takeout.
Our favorite curries are the Angus beef and Chana Masala!

Great family friendly pub in the heart of Meaford! It's got a warm cozy atmosphere that is great for both kids and adults. It has an expansive menu so there's lots to choose from but the wings are always a winner!!!

Waterfalls tours with a little extra!
The perfect way for us to spend an afternoon is to get outside and explore but to also treat ourselves with something in return like a delicious old fashioned milkshake from an old timey emporium, a delicious brunch or dinner, or a glass of our local wine!
It's a beautiful drive to explore the area's countryside. Make a trip of it and have something to eat at either the Flying Chestnut for some really delicious locally inspired meals (make a reservation!) or grab some ice cream, pizza, sandwiches, etc at the Top of the Rock. This place has a bit of everything! Part grocery store, part LCBO, part post office, part bait shop! It's your true country one stop shop!
